((Huh, okay, preservation...does that include preserving yourself? And what were the other rings for, just curious (sorry for all the questions)))

((Narya, also named the Ring of Fire or Red Ring, is one of the Three Rings.
According to Unfinished Tales, at the start of the War of the Elves and Sauron, Celebrimbor gave Narya to Círdan, Lord of the Havens of Mithlond, who kept it after Gil-galad's death. In the Third Age Círdan, recognizing Gandalf's true nature as one of the Maiar from Valinor, gave him the ring to aid him in his labors. It is described as having the power to inspire others to resist tyranny, domination, and despair (in other words, evoking hope from others around the wielder), as well as giving resistance to the weariness of time:
"Take now this Ring," he said; "for thy labors and thy cares will be heavy, but in all it will support thee and defend thee from weariness. For this is the Ring of Fire, and herewith, maybe, thou shalt rekindle hearts to the valor of old in a world that grows chill" (Círdan the Shipwright to Gandalf).
Narya was worn by Gandalf at the Grey Havens. It was a gold ring adorned with a red ruby.
Nenya, the Ring of Ice. Wielded by Lady Galadriel.
JimmyKoochAdded by JimmyKooch
Nenya, also named as the Ring of Adamant, the White Ring and the Ring of Ice, is one of the Three Rings. The name is derived from the Quenya Nén meaning water.
Nenya is described as being made of mithril and set with a "white stone", presumably a diamond (this is never stated explicitly, although the usage of the word "adamant", an old synonym, is strongly suggestive). The ring is wielded by Galadriel of Lothlórien, and possessing radiance that matches that of the stars; while Frodo Baggins can see it by virtue of being a Ring-bearer, Samwise Gamgee tells Galadriel he only "saw a star through your fingers" (This appears in many editions as "finger" — which sounds more magical, since it suggests that her finger has somehow become transparent — but The Treason of Isengard, ch. 13, note 34, mentions it as an error.)
Nenya's power was preservation, protection, and possibly concealment from evil because it is stated about Lórien that "there is a secret power here that holds evil from the land." However, the fact that Orcs from Moria entered Lórien after the Fellowship of the Ring entered the forest and Lórien itself had suffered previous attacks from Sauron's Orcs sent from Dol Guldur suggests the power of the ring did not constitute military prowess. It was said that, protected as it was by Nenya, Lothlórien would not have fallen unless Sauron had personally come to attack it. Galadriel used these powers to create and sustain Lothlórien, but it also increased her longing for the Sea and her desire to return to the Undying Lands. After the destruction of the One Ring and the defeat of Sauron, its power faded along with the other Rings of Power. Galadriel bore Nenya on a ship from the Grey Havens into the West, accompanied by the other two Elven Rings and their bearers. With the Ring gone, the magic and beauty of Lórien also faded, along with the extraordinary mallorn trees that had lived for centuries, and it was gradually depopulated. By the time Arwen came there to die in FO 121, Lothlórien was deserted and in ruin.
Vilya, the Ring of Air. Wielded by Lord Elrond.

Vilya, the Ring of Air, Blue Ring, the Dominant Ring, or Ring of Sapphire is the greatest of the Three Rings.
When Sauron laid waste to Eregion, Vilya, along with Narya, was sent to the Elven-King Gil-galad far away in Lindon, where it was later given to Elrond, who bore it through the later years of the Second Age and all of the Third. As Gil-galad was the High King of the Noldor elves at the time of the rings' distribution it was thought that he was best fit to care for the most powerful of the three Elven rings. Like the other two Rings of the Elves, Vilya was jeweled: it contained a great blue stone set in a gold band, which contributed to its titles as the Ring of Sapphire and the Blue Ring. Vilya was also called the Ring of Air, signifying its preeminence even over the other Rings of the Elves, since Vilya was the mightiest of these three bands (as mentioned in the ending chapter in The Return of the King). The exact power of Vilya is not mentioned. It is reasonable to speculate that it also possesses the power to heal and to preserve, as it is mentioned in The Silmarillion that Celebrimbor had forged the Three for these purposes, rather than to enhance the strengths of each individual bearers as the Seven, Nine, and the lesser rings did. There is some speculation that the ring controlled minor elements, considering the event where Elrond had summoned a torrent of water as the Nazgûl attempted to invade Rivendell. The ring can possibly possess the power to see the future, because Elrond can see the future as well.))
Upon Sauron's destruction, the power of Vilya faded and it was taken over the sea by Elrond at the end of the Third Age.))

((Well I didn't talk about that with Sarah I just asked "can I have one of the Elven Rings of Power" she said yes and we all lived happily ever after. Until I moved my post and Ilsa confronted me, I said Sarah let me have one, so she said okay...she did advise getting a Dwarven ring...and now here we are!))
(( Sauron presented the Seven Rings to the Dwarf-lords (although according to dwarvish tradition the Elven smith Celebrimbor gave the mightiest to Durin III personally). Apparently one ring went out apeice to the head of each one of the seven dwarf clans: Durin's Folk aka "Longbeards"; Firebeards; Broadbeams; Ironfists; Stiffbeards; Blacklocks; Stonefoots.

The Dwarves used their Rings to establish their fabled treasure hoards (which in turn attracted dragons), but Sauron, according to portions of the Silmarillion, was unable to force the Dwarven bearers to submit to his will. Indeed, the rings did not even turn them invisible; they were immune to some of the more detrimental of the rings' effects. It is believed that the dwarves' natural hardiness, and the fact that it was only the more powerful dwarf lords who possessed them, made them resistant to Sauron's control. While it is not directly stated, the Rings presumably gave the Dwarf lords who wielded them a greatly increased life span, and they presumably did not age. The net effect of these rings was to bring vast wealth to the wearer and cause him to become extremely greedy, which ultimately led to the wielders' ruin. At the time of The Lord of the Rings four rings had been consumed by dragon fire and the rest re-acquired by Sauron. The mightiest of the Seven was taken from Thráin II, heir of Durin, who had been captured, imprisoned, and tormented by the Necromancer (Sauron in disguise) in TA 2845.
Shortly before the outbreak of the War of the Ring, Sauron's envoy approached Dain II Ironfoot in Erebor and offered to return the three surviving Rings to the dwarves, if they would help find the One Ring. Dain refused, knowing from the dwarves' long experience that Sauron was untrustworthy.))

((Well yeah that's actually perfect, it would explain Aerin's unnatural wealth (and his greediness), so I guess I could take one of the 4 that was supposedly taken by dragon fire. Sounds good to me... Your a mod, do you approve?))
((Yes, BECAUSE MY DRAGONS SHALL BE THE ONE WHO MELTED IT AND FIX THE TIME LINE! *laughs evilly*))
((Well that's awfully bad, who knows, was there actual record of it being destroyed?!?!?!?? HUH! HUUUUUHHHHH!?!? -cough- at least I get to live longer...))"Look, I don't want any trouble." He said, stepping back slowly. He eventually broke into a run, not looking back.
((It was a joke))
The dragon growled. Not wanting to let him hurt her more. She flew off to go heal. She was going to kill him, one day.

((So was mine))Aerin kept on running. Once he became out of breath he leaned up against a tree and looked back. Whew he thought to himself. He couldn't help but feel a bit of cowardice, he didn't want to kill the dragon in the first place but what can you do? He began a steady pace towards his manor.
((Yeah I saw, also, I haven't brushed up on my LOTR lore in quite a while but the Maiar are the Wizards right? Aren't the only Wizards who can't to Middle Earth Radagast, Gandalf, Saruman, Alatar, and Pallando? Well then again why am I questioning this I proablly break LOTR lore every post...))
((Gandalf and ect are maiar's and they were actually supposed to be abundant, and no they aren't necessarily wizards.))
((Well, yeah I guess, the Maiar are like the ones below the.... Ainur? Nononononono...I definitally starts with Ai...))
Valadhiel and Voronwë continued riding, both of their good pulled up over their heads to sheild them from view. They hadn't found what they where looking for at the lonely mountain and Voronwë was getting worse. Valadhiel sighed and tightened the reins up on her stallion, stopping him. Voronwë looked back and then rounded his stallion back towards his sister.
"What's wrong sister?" he asked, his tone worried as he saw the uneasiness and discoloration on his twins face. She shook her head and drew a hand through her mounts mane. "It's hopeless isn't it? Trying to find.." she stopped as her hand shook. "I don't want to loose you," she stated. He nodde his understanding of how she felt and then spoke softly. "Hopefully we'll find answers in the map we found of where our parents went after the mountain," he stated.

Hálneth was still in her serpent form, trying to cut down time. She decided that even though she could handle fatigue, any nearby town would be necessary to stop at. Plus, the itch of the poison ivy was getting worse. Stupid land-plants... Scampering down the road, she was fighting another wave of itchiness, and quietly growled at herself.
Voronwë looked at his sister as she tightened her hands on the reins. He let out a sigh as he watched her and then moved his stallion up a bit to place his hand on his sisters shoulder. "It will all go well. I promise," he spoke in a reassuring tone.
"I hope your right," Valadhiel said as she looked at him. The horses snorted and both of the elves attention was brought to a noise a few leagues behind them. Voronwë squinted his eyes at it as the two stallions started to become uneasy. He wasn't exactly sure what it was but it was now on the road and coming towards them.
"What is that?" he murmured and his sister stared at it as well before her stallion leapt forward to get farther away from what ever it was. "Easy!" Valadhiel called.
((wasn't exactly sure which form she was in on the road))

((Still serpent)) At this point she had stopped and was chasing the sore itchy wound around in circles, growling at it. She didn't necessarily want to scratch at it, but had to do something until it went away. Argh! Stupid...little...ITCH Little did she know that she had the attention of two elves not too far ahead of her. But of course, she was to busy to care.
((Wait, which characters do I actually have open? O_O How about my evil Melissa girl, but a little less evil for a moment?))
((sure XD how about Ilsa posts while im showering lol))
((or maybe not lol XD))
Valadhiel finally made out the creature and to her it looked oddly like a dragon she'd seen in Voronwë's books though a bit smaller. Her stallion snorted and since nether elf seemed scared of it both horses where now extremely curious but didn't move forward.
Voronwë was of course fascinated by it and got off his stallion, handing his reins to his sister. Rather than staying on the rode though he decided it was better to get in the long grass and use it for cover as he moved forward to get a closer look. Valadhiel watched him carefully, dropping the reins for Voronwë's stallion onto his saddle so her hands where free as she reached back for her bow and arrow. She wanted to be ready if her brother's curiousness got him into more trouble.

((Sorry! I was showing my dad Gravity Falls!))
Melissa walked alone, far, far from her native land. Her black, silky mane was braided in one long, thick plait down her back, and her clothes could be described as masculine, but feminine enough to be scandalous. Unlike other travelers, she had no bag or cloak, and didn't appear to be armed. Yet, confidently, Melissa strolled, wearing a warm smile, her eyes sparkling. She glanced over at the two Elves and, with uncanny precision, slipped right between them in a fantastic display of stealth. "What are you doing?"

((wait which one of them?, cause technically her brother would have been at least a couple meters away and shes on her horse holding down the fort basically))
((Sorry guys, sleep took over when I was finishing Limitless!))Hálneth stopped abruptly, noticing that there were now three elves by her. Embarrassed, she calmly collected herself and cleared her throat. "Ahem. Hello! I'm Hálneth Alruugotuia, pleasure to make your acquaintance!" Then she realized it would be awkward if she talked to them while remaining in her serpent form, and quickly changed to her Elven form. She stretched in the armor that the King had so graciously given her, as it was able to change with her. She then noticed that the patch of irritation from the poison ivy had spread. She muttered to herself, "Damnit..."
Voronwë spooked when the animal talked and moved from the grass to the rode. He was focused on the serpent as it turned into an elf. Slowly the understanding came upon him and he smiled at the serpent lady. "Voronwë Minyarthor," he stated as he looked her up and down, half in awe, "the pleasure is mine." The whole intire conversation he never noticed the other elf closer to his sister. "Are you alright?" he asked when he heard her speak in a lowered tone.
Valadhiel didn't lower her bow and arrow as another elven specimen appeared before her. She was slightly startled but didn't show it as he stallion stirred under her. "I'm keep watch for my brother that went to ivestigate som-" her multi-colored eyes switched to her brother and noticed an elf there rather than the serpent. She half lowered her bow then and looked down at the elf that had startled her. "And you?" she asked as she reached over for the reins to her brother's stallion.

"Walking in the sunshine, obviously," the girl said. She was what, half human, half ghostly immortal evil? How did that work out? Melissa turned towards the boy an the snake-woman he'd been investigating. "So, why are you here?" she asked Valadhiel, seeming like a completely normal person at the moment.
Hálneth sighed. "Kind of. I fell in some stupid three-leafed land plants and I have a bad rash. I was heading to the nearest town to look for ointment. You know, seaweed never did this!" She huffed in frustration. She then got the feeling of dehydration, and keeled over. Dizzy, dizzy, dizzy... The wave of nausea passed and she stood back up like nothing ever happened. "How about your companion? She looks a bit...pallid," she said in concern.
Valadhiel eyed she she-elf infront of her warily before she put her bow away completely and stuck the arrow back into the quiver. "Heading to Bree so we can say there for the next few nights. Our reasoning is our own," she explained as she lifted her hand to her good and pulled it back to reveal her face. She shifted in the saddle to get comfortable. "I'm Valadhiel Minyarthor, what do you call yourself?" she asked as she eased into a more comfortable positioning. She was still wary but her brother seemed to have stuck up an interesting conversation as well.
Voronwë pulled his hood back from his face and titled his head slightly, curious now. When she spoke of seaweed it finally came to him. Hálneth must be a niad of some kind able to shift forms, she looked like a water elf like himself but seemed different as well. He was tempted to ask her about her tattoo on her forehead as well before she bent, looking like she was about to be sick before she stood up again. "She's just got a lot on her mind. Valadhiel is my sister and she worries. Are you sure your okay other than the plants? It looked like you where about to be sick," he stated but he didn't move closer. "I may have something in my saddle bags that can help with the itching and rash," he quickly added.

She pondered a bit before answering,"Yes, I think I am fine. Just a little nauseous, that's all. I haven't been in the water in a while, so I am getting used to healing the long way around." She shuffled around and played with the gold band around her arm. It was something to keep her distracted from itching. "So...in which direction is the nearest town? I'm afraid I don't know the land very well...I could fly, but I don't trust in my strength at this moment..."
"Melissa. And I'm human, not an Elf." She looked like one, certainly, and less human than some tall, elegant dark stranger. She cleared her throat. "Mind if I accompany you on the way to your destination?" She brushed a few loose hairs back behind one of her slender ears.
Voronwë Looked at Hálneth with a bit of awe and slight surprise before he smiled slightly. "Yes," he pointed back towards where he had come from, "it's the up the ride a few more miles," he stated. Looking back at her he was surprised. "You can fly?" he asked, pretty excited that she could fly. "I mean, I haven't met anyone like you before. At first I thought you might be one of the ancient dragons I've read about in my books but, I apologize if I offend, your a bit to small in your other form."
Valadhiel was surprised to say the least that Melissa was in fact human and not elf. She looked elf that was for sure. Or at least of part elven kinder. "I guess you can. No one can stop you from traveling on the same road, though I hope you can keep up with these horses. They are of River Kelpie and Land Horse descendent so they are quite a degree faster and more fluid both on land and water," she stated rather proudly as she patted the stallion's neck.

Melissa smiled oddly, her face taking on a strange sort of hue. "Oh, no worries. I can keep up. I doubt you'll see much of me, though." She scratched at her scalp. "Ah, I could use a hot bath." Her voice and face went back to normal. "Bree will do nicely."
She laughed, "No, no, I can understand why. Sea serpents are usually smaller than most wyvern, usually. Except the King, who's quite large. And my uncle..." She twisted her foot in the dirt, remembering how her uncle rejected her, throwing her out of his court in front of all of his subjects. Her eyes stung at it. She blinked the thought of the indignation away and smiled. "It's good that it's not very far. I'm exhausted...," she sighed.
Valadhiel looked at the strange girl and when her face changed her back prickled and the stallion both sighed away. Though they didn't shy by much and Voronwë's stallion reached out his nose to sniff Melissa. "Hmmm," Valadhiel looked at her as the stallion seemed slightly pleased and pulled away. "I would think a human would have trouble keeping up but I shall not ask questions," she stated.
Voronwë was once again surprised to hear that he was slightly right. A sea serpent, but that didn't explain her elven shape at the moment. He decided not to pry and then nodded. "How about you travel with us, I can give you some of the salve to put on to relieve the itching and rash as well. What say you?" he asked. He wanted to know more about this lady. This sea serpent, perhaps it was his senses as a water elf to be close to something like her or her found her comfortable to be around. He knew she felt definetly much older than he. "My mount can carry us both with out problems if you wish," he added.

"Well, I needn't come along if you're so desperate to be rid of me," Melissa sighed, stretching out her shoulders. "I am interested in the one your other elf found," she raised her eyebrows, crossing her arms.
She smiled,"That would be most gracious of you." Hálneth stretched once again and sighed. She remembered her powers, and that she could quench her thirst. "I'm an idiot...," she mumbled to herself. She went to the side of the road, crouched, and put her hands over the ground. She felt the water underneath all of the dirt and called to it with her mind. She felt the water start to rise up until a blob of clear water floated a mere inch off of the ground. She smiled again and cupped her hands under it, bringing it to her mouth and drinking it. Satisfied, she stood back up and dusted off the lower half of her armor.
