Julia (julia103) | 321 comments My copy of this ebook in epub shows 486 pages. The GR listing for the same edition says 288 pages. I thought that ebooks weren't listed with page numbers because it would depend on the format.
ISBN 0012827797

Z-squared | 8575 comments sometimes ebook editions have page numbers if the publisher says that's the number. in this case, the page # was auto-imported from barnes & noble. i have deleted the page number from this edition altogether.

incidentally, i deleted the ISBN from that record as well, as it was one of the bogus ISBNs generated from B&N's BNIDs. that way the B&N link will work (if it's still for sale there).

Sandi (sandikal) | 39 comments It all depends on the edition. Ebooks that I download from Barnes & Noble are in a format that has standard page numbers. Books I download from Kobo or Overdrive vary the number of pages based on the font size. They also don't tell you the total number of pages, just the pages per chapter. Older Kindle books just showed percentages. Newer Kindle books show location, percentage, and page #of##. Like Nook books, the number of pages does not change with font size.

Books often have the incorrect number of pages based on what the publisher or the seller shows online. This happens just as often with print books as ebooks.

B&N would get the page number from the publisher, so I reverted that change.

FYI, "Nook" is not an edition we use.
