The IAD is sent to follow Harry. What did you think of Lewis and Clarke?

message 2: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments The epitome of the obsessed IA cops not willing or even capable of keeping an open mind and seeing the facts before them. They were so blinded by their dislike for Harry that it got them killed.

Well said, Lauren. They weren't doing their jobs because they were obsessed by envy.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments They were not a credit to their uniform (or silk suits), to say the least. Their role at the end did sneak up on me, however; but it didn't surprise me.

I'd forgotten about that scene, Stephanie! It really proved how inept they were.

message 6: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Obsequious idiots!

message 7: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments To me the whole IAD thing was a bit over the top. They were trying too hard to construe everything Harry did as proof of corruption even when it seemed farfetched and highly improbable. This part was too cartoonish IMO.

This was the early 1990’s when the LAPD was out of control. It fit what I remembered about them...all muscle and testosterone.

message 9: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I can't say I've ever paid any attention to the LAPD, then or now.

They had national infamy.

Yes, they did come across as buffoons.
Considering the problematic history in the LAPD, I think this portrayal of them was rather weak. It could have been done more realistically in order to convey an important message.
