Melissa I just read this, fantastic book! I give it a 4 out of 5.

Inside the O'Briens

message 6: by Natália (new)

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) Too bad I already read Emma for this years challenge. I'll have to check my other options, maybe I'll use The Evolution of Mara Dyer or Finding Audrey by Sophia Kinsella.

I loved that book too. It was heartbreaking, but amazing.

message 8: by Ann-Marie (new)

Ann-Marie (amsjob) The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky will be my choice for this category.

Gabriella Andén fd rehbinder | 10 comments I'm actually reading "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carole with my daughter right now. A really fun read for both of us!

message 10: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teremazon) I have a question. Does it have to be first name+ surname, or first name only is ok?

message 11: by Natália (new)

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) I'll be using Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter, which can be used as a retold fairytale too. This book has been highly recommended to me by a friend and I hope to tackle it soon.

message 12: by Margo (new)

Margo (dandylines) My Name Is Lucy Barton
Recommended by our wonderful, local, independent bookstore.
Their reviews made me want to read it.
Unfortunately, I made another selection because my other on-line book club will be reading it.

message 13: by Margo (new)

Margo (dandylines) A Man Called Ove
Will read because my Ravelry Book Club is reading it.

message 14: by Jessie (new)

Jessie Gussman | 8 comments I'm going to try Oliver Twist

message 16: by D (new)

D | 9 comments My book is Jewel by Brett Lott.

message 17: by Mary Sue (new)

Mary Sue I chose Cider With Rosie for this task. It was just OK - 2 stars

message 19: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jessicamdawn) | 19 comments I read a Pride and Prejudice retelling called Dear Mr. Darcy: A Retelling of Pride and Prejudice for this. The author is known for writing from the perspective of the Jane Austen men, and the books all have their names in the title.

I read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks which ended up being an eye opening book about the history of cervical cancer treatment and the role of "HeLa" cells.

Other books that would work for this category includes:

Saving CeeCee Honeycutt, Rosemary: The Hidden Kennedy Daughter and The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott. :)
