I have a collection of Mark Twain books that I plan to go through this year. I am going to match up as many of them with the categories as I can. For this one....I have several to choose from:Adventures of Hucklebery Finn
Adventures of Tom Sawyer
Alonzo Fitz and Other Stories
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court
Eve's Diary
Extract from Captain Stormfield's Visit to Heaven
I have "The Picture of Dorian Gray" on my shelf, so I am going with this book. Other suggestions:
Jane Eyre
Emma
Rebecca
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
Eleanor & Park
Life of Pi
Too bad I already read Emma for this years challenge. I'll have to check my other options, maybe I'll use The Evolution of Mara Dyer or Finding Audrey by Sophia Kinsella.

I loved that book too. It was heartbreaking, but amazing.
I'm actually reading "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carole with my daughter right now. A really fun read for both of us!
I'll be using Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter, which can be used as a retold fairytale too. This book has been highly recommended to me by a friend and I hope to tackle it soon.
My Name Is Lucy BartonRecommended by our wonderful, local, independent bookstore.
Their reviews made me want to read it.
Unfortunately, I made another selection because my other on-line book club will be reading it.
I just finished I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban and it was great reading
I read a Pride and Prejudice retelling called Dear Mr. Darcy: A Retelling of Pride and Prejudice for this. The author is known for writing from the perspective of the Jane Austen men, and the books all have their names in the title.
I read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks which ended up being an eye opening book about the history of cervical cancer treatment and the role of "HeLa" cells.
Other books that would work for this category includes:
Saving CeeCee Honeycutt, Rosemary: The Hidden Kennedy Daughter and The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott. :)
