This folder is for a book that you've chosen based solely on its cover.

Go with your gut!

Please share your suggestions, or any resources you've used to help find your book for this category in this thread.

Amanda | 229 comments I have chosen to read "The Dovekeepers" by Alice Hoffman. I love this cover and we are also reading it in my book club this year. If anyone is interested in discussing books in our group on Goodreads, just shoot me a friends request and I will send you an invite. We are discussing "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" this Saturday and will be reading "Outlander" in January. I frequent thrift stores for books on my to-read list, so I'm constantly picking up books with interesting covers and then looking it up on here for reviews. Here are some of my other cover buys that weren't on my to-read list but I ended up buying anyway:
The Sparrow, by Mary Doria Russell
Fault Lines, by Nancy Huston
The Stolen Child, by Keith Donohue
Blackmoore, by Julianne Donaldson
A Vintage Affair, by Isabel Wolff

I love "The Dovekeepers" and I think I chose it by its cover and the title. Good choice.

I just flipped on Amazon for a while.

You can also try googling "beautiful book covers" some beautiful covers come up but the description of the books did not interest me.

Teresa (teremazon) I've chosen The Book of Speculation, because the paperback cover is gorgeous,

The Book of Speculation by Erika Swyler

but then I bought it in kindle, that he kindle cover is totally lacklustre.

Melissa I looked through my "Want to Read" books on Goodreads and skimmed the covers ignoring the title and author. I picked At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen. The look on the woman's face intrigued me and I wondered what she was looking at; she seemed so sad, I couldn't forget it. Gruen has also written Water for Elephants which I read a long time ago and really enjoyed so I hope to enjoy this book as well.

Kristina I read this book: The Girl with Ghost Eyes (Xian Li-lin, #1) by M.H. Boroson

But I also like this book cover: Playing with Fire by Tess Gerritsen

Ned Hanlon | 4 comments All Murakami books tend to be really beautiful visually. Other than that here are a couple nice looking covers I've come across recently:

The Walk:

The End of the West:

Everything That Rises Must Converge:

The Complete Cosmicomics:

but I think I'm going with Selected Poems by Stéphane Mallarmé:

(and yes, looking at these suggestions it does appear I have an esthetic type!)

Mary Sue Paging Aphrodite by Kim Green In the spring I was browsing through the tables my local library's used book sale and the cover of this book caught my attention. It was a light, easy summer read.
