I was wondering if anyone else was doing the sister site of book riots panels challenge. I don't think they have their own group on here? But would love to see if anyone else is doing it and what they've decided to read and get suggestions if they are.

I'm going to give it a go, mostly because my to-read pile of graphics is huge and I think I can do quite a few from that pile without buying anything new, although I'm stuck on a couple of categories (watercolour?). I have multiple for teenage protagonists and feminist, too many really!
I'm not sure what that is either. But I'm the same with the feminist and teenage protagonist comics. I tend to think of my comic reading as separate from my book reading normally. Mainly because I read a lot of comics in a year and seem to just devour them and sometimes seems unfair to include them in book counts
I didn't count a lot in my goodreads challenge this year and wish I had now as behind badly book wise . But it's both remembering what I read and when to add to the challenge . Feels like cheating

Beautiful Darkness by Fabian Vehlmann, The Odyssey by Gareth Hinds, How to Understand Israel in 60 Days or Less by Sarah Glidden , Long Tail Kitty by Lark Pien, and Syllabus by Lynda Barry use watercolor.
I'd love suggestions for self-published comics if anyone has some.

That's one I'm gonna research a bit more myself when the new year starts. Wondering if any well known comics were originally self published and would count? Hoping that they give us some good resources through the year on the site

Self published wise, I'm investigating 'Rainbow in the Dark', by Comfort Love and Adam Withers - randomly found as a rec on another site I read. I've never heard of it before but it looks pretty adorable.

I didn't realize Panels had their own challenge. This is great, and just what I needed to help me expand and diversify my comic reading. Thank you!
Your very welcome Liz :) this is their second year too, i only realised they were running last years challenge in December . I'm looking forward to seeing what others are reading
I read Descender, Vol. 1: Tin Stars for the book challenge (non-superhero published in the last 3 years) and turns out it's done in watercolours; the art is beautiful and the story is great.

Is there any way to create a board within this one for the Panels challenge with the different tasks? I know it'd be more work for you, but it'd be easier to follow. One big thread can get hard to read after awhile on mobile Goodreads.
I'd like a thread for each task on a separate board too - the mobile app will only load 50 at a time, it gets cumbersome.
