No. 43 My Sunshine Away

NPR listed this as one of its recommended books for 2015. I can see why the critic was drawn to the writing, but I really struggled with the point-of-view: a teen boy reacts to the rape of his neighborhood crush. It's realistic, I suppose, that a boy that age would see the events entirely though his own lens. But I found the book off-putting.
