This folder is for books that either take place in Europe, or are written by a European author. It's up to you!

Please share your suggestions, or any resources you've used to help find your book for this category in this thread.

Frogli | 118 comments I'm not even bothering to pick one for this (see also North America) as it will apply to so many books that I'm using it as sort of another wild card.

Mind you I do plan to read The Angel's Game at some point so maybe I'll use that.

Yep, same here. It is one of the most popular places in Romance books, one of my brain candy book genres. So, I pretty much think of this as a wild card, too.

Same for me. Author never read, Own but never read, History and Science Fiction. I am not planning for any of these because I have so many books that fit.

message 10: by Natália (new)

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) This I'll be like a wild card for me too, because I have a lot of books that could fit this. I may go with Christie again mainly because I love her books and I got new ones that I haven't yet read for Christmas!

Melissa I'm reading "The Girl on the Train" for this one. The audio book is read by 3 British female readers which should make it very interesting to listen to since I am from the USA.

Chelsea Morris I finally got around to reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I would absolutely recommend it!

message 19: by Margo (new)

Margo (dandylines) Love it and hard to put down any of that trilogy. I think he also has a follow up novel out now.

message 20: by Teresa (last edited Jan 09, 2016 10:45AM) (new)

Teresa (teremazon) I will count On Dublin Street by Samantha Young for this category. I am going to re-read The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera too, so it really does not matter which one to count. I think I tend to read about 25-30% of my books from Europe every year. I've discovered that the rest are almost all from America, with very few from Australia, and practically none from Africa and Asia. I feel that this has to be rectified!!!!

message 21: by Teresa (last edited Jan 09, 2016 10:50AM) (new)

Teresa (teremazon) @Melissa, whenever I find a good book, I also buy it on audible for my husband to listen to in the car. I was only about 15% in with Gone Girl, when I bought the audio. I also have The Girl On The Train on my challenge (as the one which is going to be turned into a movie this year), an I am looking forward to it very much. It is great to hear that the narration is good. It makes all the difference.

I actually just finished reading The Lake House this evening. Really good book, kept me guessing right up until the end.

message 24: by Sam F (new)

Sam F | 29 comments I enjoyed reading At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen which mostly takes place in Scotland. It's not my favourite book of the author's but an enjoyable read.

message 25: by Elle Belle (new)

Elle Belle (michellele) | 13 comments I Gots ta Get me some Plum Wodehouse for my Europe read!!! Whoop! Whoop! What Ho Bertie! I'm sure any Plum read will be an excellent choice for chasing away the bally balliness of it all. To anyone who disapproves, I shall say, "Tut!"

message 26: by Elise (new)

Elise | 12 comments All That I Am by Anna Funder.
Really good book, really interesting finding out about Europe pre-ww2. The book is based on real people, German-Jewish anti Hitler activists that flee to London but continue working against Hitler and the mystery around their ending.
One of those books that makes you want to find out more about a particular place or time after you finish reading.

Also she an Australian author and its won multiple awards so its suitable for other categories too
