Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) Hi - I have a question about linking books. At one time I posted on my PC and knew how to do this. It was pre I Pad and Kindle days. Today I only use either my phone or my I Pad when reading and writing to various book groups. I don’t think I can do a link on my phone since I don’t see where to add a book or author above s blank message. Somebody asked me to link my books but as far as I know it can’t be done on my phone. This person now tells me she does this on her phone. I have an older I Phone and am wondering if this could be the problem. I’m hope that somebody here can help me do this on my I Phone. I hate not paying attention to this so.......

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure, the only thing I can think is this person telling you that they can link books on her phone is not using the Goodreads app but they are able to access the full website through the internet app. I rarely use my phone for Goodreads, I only use it when I'm updating my page totals or when I've finished reading a book.

Yeah, same here.

Nancy, you can link using the app but it is not simple or easy (and sometimes gives the wrong link). You have to type in the code Goodreads uses (you can see this on the website if you edit a comment that contains a book link). It looks like this:
[book:book title goes here]

So if I type (on the app or on the website) something like this:

I am currently reading [book:The Hunchback of Notre Dame].

it should appear when posted as:

I am currently reading The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
