I'll be reading this book too!!! <3 Between this book and Outlander, my schedule will be full!!!!

The first couple of pages are making me want to quit...

I'll be starting a re-read of it in a few days. I really enjoyed it, but I had already seen the show so it was easier to keep track of all the characters.

I've seen the first season. But the book is hard to get into.

I'm happy I didn't go for this. It didn't seem like my thing and I never got into the show either. I'm debating Outlander too. I think i'd like it more but there are other books I'm so much more excited about.

Well I was excited about this. I love Tolkin and his writing has been compared to Tolkin and I just find that it is not in my opinion.

Yeah I feel the same way right now, Andrea. I was so excited for this book. I'm kinda disappointed that I can't get into it.

I mean I grew up reading Tolkin once I hit a certain age because of my grandfather being a Tolkin Scholar. He has written books about Tolkin. I had to read them and I was glad that I had to because I loved them.
So I think comparing Martin's writing to Tolkin is kind of an insult to Tolkin. Tolkin wrote four books The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, Two Towers and The Return of the King in this descriptive writing style while Martin is still writing that does not give me hope for his other books.
I hope they get better but I do not know if I will be reading anymore after this book if I finish it.

This and Outlander tied for 2nd place so both will be available to be chosen from the book of the month.
