DC versus Marvel Reading Challenge 2016
Welcome Brittany. I have absolutely no official standing at all, but based on past experience:
You can join either team (I'm on Marvel myself)
Books read in 2016 count except for the villain books. If you read one for Poison Ivy in March, that would count, but the others villains have closed, likewise books of the month.

i'll put down what i've got so far:
Marvel
Ms. Marvel/Marvelous Girl/The Foxhole Court/1 of 3
Ms. Marvel/Fangirl/The King's Men (All For the Game, #3)/2 of 3
Ms. Marvel/Nobody understands me/The Raven King (All For the Game, #2)/3 of 3
--RECRUITED
Thor/Goddess of Thunder/The Realms of the Gods/1 of 3
Squirrel Girl/Squirrels/Wolf-Speaker/1 of 3
Squirrel Girl/Squirrel Tail/Emperor Mage/2 of 3
Squirrel Girl/Tippy-Toe/Wild Magic/3 of 3
--RECRUITED
Here's an interesting question - one of the recruitment challenges is to read a book where the main character is a scientist. I just finished heresy, where the main character is a 14th century philosopher, a doctor of theology, and a proponent of Copernicus' theories - pretty much the closest thing that existed to a scientist at the time. Is that close enough?
DC/Ex-Heroes/Firestorm/Regeneration/2 of 3One of the heroes' codename is Regenerator and he has the power to regenerate/heal from pretty much anything.
DCLobo
Hook and Chain/The Fellowship of the Ring/ 1 of 3
*Gandolf is imprisoned.
Supergirl
She's a supergirl/ New Horizons/ 1 of 3
*one singular female pov main character
DCFirestorm/Red Hot Fire/Lord of the Flies/1of3
Read a book with fire on the cover or where a fire occurs within the story.
The children set fire to the island just before their rescue.
DCPoison Ivy/ In Love with Harley Quinn/ Thirteenth Night/ 3 of 3
* jester/fool on the cover
Poison Ivy defeated!
MarvelPoison Ivy / In love with Harley Quinn / Downfall
3/3

*** Poison Ivy - Defeated! ***
There seems to be an Ana conspiracy afoot. Hmmm.... *rubs chin, ponders, goes to find his magnifying glass and Deerstalker hat*
Happy Easter, challengers!
First of all let me welcome our new players. This week Greg and Ana joined Team DC and Brittany joined Team Marvel. Thank you to everyone who made them feel welcome and answered their questions. :)
Next up we had some questions regarding scientists. I'm usually fine with non-fiction here and if the scientist is the narrator of the non-fiction that works for me.
@Nick: Yes. that scientist is totally fine. Philosophy is a science, so that works for me.
Now getting into the points. This week was another win for Team Marvel. For them Rinn, Shawnie and Mark defeated Poison Ivy, while newcomer Brittany added Thor and Ms. Marvel to her roster. In addition to that Joy recruited Jessica Jones and Nara added Nova to her team.
For DC Nick recruited Commissioner Gordon while Dawn, Milou and Melanie defeated Poison Ivy.
And as April is almost here, of course there's going to be a new villain. And in spirit of the Easter weekend, I decided to add probably one of the more ridiculous but theme fitting villains, the White Rabbit!
As always, you can find her challenges in the villain section, in the seperated villain/portal hero post, or right here, down below. Have fun beating her, she has some tricky challenges. :)
White Rabbit
Active from 01/04/2016 - 30/04/2016

1. The White Rabbit
Read a book with "white" or "rabbit" in the title or which has a rabbit or hare in it. (Doesn't need to be a talking one, can just be a pet)
2. Lorina Dodson
Read a book with any form of money (coins, bills) on the cover or where the main protagonist has rich parents.
3. Dating Arcade
Read a book with an arcade, computer or game console on the cover or where people get to be part of a video game. (that means sucked into it like in Tron, not only playing it extensively)

I have two questions about the villain. Would a book like Eye of Minds count for a character being sucked into a computer? The book is about a cyber terrorist who is trapping people inside a gaming virtual reality. Also, would Legacy of Kings count for a main protagonist with rich parents. The main protagonist is a young Alexander the Great.

(I may be a hopeless fan of his...)
