FYI: We won't have an update this week as I'm pretty busy and have to work all weekend, but I'll have a 3 day weekend coming up starting next Friday, so there will be an update there. Sorry that it doesn't work out this week, hope you're all doing well. :)

DC/When Falcons Fall/Swamp Thing/Back To The Roots/1 of 3Main character discovers facts about his true parentage.
Marvel- Poison Ivy 2. Toxic Plans Read a book with "poison" or "toxic" in the title or where one of the characters is poisoned/is harmed by radiation. The Poison Tree
2/3 for Poison Ivy
Somehow seems like it should count for more than just one. There's poison in the title, a tree on the cover, and the main character has a (one sided) lesbian love affair with another female character. All three at once!

I have two questions... 1) For Firestorm, Red Hot Fire (Read a book with fire on the cover or where a fire occurs within the story), does a burning on the cover count for this, or does it have to be a proper big ass fire? 2) For Blue Beetle, Beetlejuice (Read a book with a beetle on the cover or where beetles/insects play a role in the story), do spiders count for this? Seeing as they most definitely are not insects but in many lists are still counted as so. Thank you
I would think a fire is a fire From a lit candle to a city burning to the ground. As long as it shows on the cover. A spider is an arachnid not a beetle, so sorry but it would not count.
Dont be sorry. Im a biologist so it didnt even occur to me to take a spider for this till I saw someone list it and it would fit better with my tbr mountain :p
Milou wrote: "Dont be sorry. Im a biologist so it didnt even occur to me to take a spider for this till I saw someone list it and it would fit better with my tbr mountain :p"Actually is says beetle or insect and a spider is an insect.
Sorry a spider is not an insect. It's an arachnid. Just like a bat is not a bird even though they are similar.
hahaha, thats the whole thing. A spider is Not an insect. like Mark said, it is an Arachnid. Without going in too much detail, insects have 6 legs while spiders have 8. I believe they are even closer related to crabs and shrimps than to insects.
True by the look of them. But maybe the moderator was unaware of this and meant to include spiders, scorpions, ticks and mites in his "insect" description. If so you may still have a chance to use it.
DC/Why Mermaids Sing/Alfred Pennyworth/Actor on the Stage/1 of 3One of the characters is an actress on the London stage.
DC/Poison Ivy/Toxic Plans/The Fellowship of the Ring (The Lord of the Rings, #1)/1 of 3Frodo gets stabbed by a poisonous Morgul-blade
Mark wrote: "True by the look of them. But maybe the moderator was unaware of this and meant to include spiders, scorpions, ticks and mites in his "insect" description. If so you may still have a chance to use it."Ticks and mites aren't insects?? Huh, I learned something new.
Is everyone using radiation poisoning for Toxic Plans for Poison Ivy? Or are most interpreting it as just poisoning? I'm not sure what books to look for. Thanks!
My book used regular ingested poison but I believe the criteria allows for a character harmed by either poison or radiation.
Yep, just checked."Read a book with "poison" or "toxic" in the title or where one of the characters is poisoned/is harmed by radiation."
Ok, I read it as poisoned/harmed by radiation. It'll be much easier to find a book without radiation. Thank you!
Marvel- Poison Ivy 3. In Love with Harley Quinn
Read a book with a clown/jester/fool on the cover or where one of the characters is in an LGBTQ+ relationship. America Unzipped: In Search of Sex and Satisfaction It's a study of sexuality in modern America, and there's every type of relationship in here.
