I wasn't sure where to put this so I figured I'd put it here and it can be moved if need be. So my project funding has come to an end and I'm looking at options that are out there. I know I can do another round with Inkshares I'm just not sure if that's the way to go. I know Lulu and Create Space are both a publish as you purchase type thing... but has anyone really looked at them? Have insight as to which is better if either are better? Benefits of them? Are they a good option? While I look at restructuring I figured I'd get all my info. :)

in my opinion I think createspace is better.
I prefer create space. It's backed by the distribution power of Amazon; if you do it through lulu, then when people buy through Amazon, there are bigger distribution fees. Also, there are some options in lulu that won't be distributed through Amazon, only through lulu. Also, you can tie it in with a kindle ebook through KDP (+\- select). I did my first book through lulu but my second through create space. Lulu isn't bad, but I think create space just about has the edge. (However, I am in the uk, so things might be a little different elsewhere :-) )
In the research I've done, I actually think the discussion should be "CreateSpace versus IngramSpark." If you want to focus on Amazon sales, then CS is the way to go (the way I decided to go). But if your Kindle book is selling well, like 500 copies a month, it's time to look into distributing to bookstores, and Ingram is king there. You can just start directly with Ingram, but I hear stories of Amazon passively aggressively punishing books that are distributed through other companies.Therefore my plan is a combo of both. I will use CS for Amazon sales of the book, and IngramSpark for distribution outside of Amazon once my Kindle sales are substantial enough to prove I have a sellable product worth putting on a bookstore shelf.

Anyway, I know you said your plan was to do a combo of both, did you already go with them both? After reading the articles and talking to other authors and book sellers/resellers I've decided I'll be using both IngramSpark and CreateSpace. One of the things they did say was not to give up on Inkshares though. They suggested to self publish, get a following, then put my favorite project on Inkshares. My problem then would be, which one of my projects is my favorite?
