So the only way to get #1.5 to show up with the series is to change it to #2? (Which I obviously can't do.) Why is that? It's still part of the series, and it's longer than a novella. It's neither an intermediate novella nor a short story.

In general, whole numbers are used by most authors/publishers for their main stories, with decimal points in between for ancillary/shorter works.

Quoleena, the cover says it's #1.5. If it's not an intermediate title, why isn't it numbered #2?

Fixed series."
I don't see any changes having been made. Regardless, I've decided to change it to #2, since the #1.5 is received as odd all around. It's a full length book, just shorter than the first one in the series.
I'm uploading an alternate cover edition with the subtitle written as "The Crossing Hour, #2." It hasn't sold enough copies for me to be concerned with anyone being confused, especially since the rest of the title and cover is exactly the same. Before I upload the change, I want to confirm that when I change it from #1.5 to #2, it won't be reset to the original.
Thanks!

And certainly, the author should be able to decide which works are primary and which non- for their own series.

Not when it's a question of short works interspersed among novel-length ones. But that does not seem to be the case here.

Books mentioned in this topic
Luminescence (other topics)The Crossing Hour (other topics)
The Teamster (other topics)
The series title of the first book is designated as "The Crossing Hour #1." The series title of the second book is designated as "The Crossing Hour #1.5."
The series title for both books should only be designated as "The Crossing Hour." The actual titles should still be the following: "The Crossing Hour (The Crossing Hour, #1)" and "The Teamster (The Crossing Hour, #1.5)."
Can you please omit the # in the title series, so that both books show up as part of the same series? Can you also make certain that after the adjustment, the titles still appear as I've written them above?
I hope this makes sense!
Thank you!
