Hmmm. Sorry, Julie, I can't figure out what is what. Yes, your percentage is supposed to show. Although, I can see all your books, and your count is right. I checked your shelf and see that you have both and start and stop date that fall w/i the date parameters.

Question: Are you 'tagging' by a mobile device?

As a mod, I would go to the GRs Feedback Group, but I've done that before with is challenge, and the person who designed it was a volunteer who has since left GRs, so the challenge is not longer "tech supported." So, from past experience, I know that wouldn't get the question answered. Sorry.

message 53: by Julie (new)

Julie Le Cras Thanks lisa
yes I do some bits on my mobile, maybe it is that. I am moving house this weekend, my son is a tech person when we are settled I will get him to look for me.

message 54: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yeah, there are different issues with 'tagging' books from a mobile device...and with each device it is a different issue. So, I think you'll find it is on GRs' end and not yours. I'm just glad it is counting your total. Sometimes, it is that that doesn't 'take.'

Sunday Update

01,157/16,000

message 56: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments We are on day 38 out of 366 days this Leap Year.
Days into Challenge divided by Total Days of the Challenge = “on target percent”
38 / 366 = 10.38% “on target percent.”
We've read 1,157 books so far. So...
1,157 / 16,000 = 7.2%
Eeep! We need more members to join - or read more!

I haven't read much in the past few weeks. I hope I can get back to reading but I changed my goal from 216 to 116 for now.

Don't worry, LK we'll get there :)

You know me, ShoSho. I worry every year. :o)

message 59: by Lara (new)

Lara | 2335 comments I also haven't been able to read as much the last couple of weeks. I'm hoping to get some more reading time in though.

message 60: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I've been reading like a crazy person. I guess it is because last year was such a crazy "no-time-to-read" year for me.

message 61: by Lara (new)

Lara | 2335 comments Recently I've started some longer books and that has really slowed me down. I need to find some more novellas to fly through.

message 62: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yeah, those "chunksters" will do that, Lara.

I noticed on Lisa Kay's "Big City/Small Town" challenge (where we also use the percentage bars), I've had to actually click on the bar itself. It opens it up so you can see the books you tagged. At that time, it also updates the bar itself.

Hope this is the issue you were referring to and that this helps.

message 64: by Julie (new)

Julie Le Cras Hi Dawn my son sorted it for me, not sure why it did not work for me. It was one of those moments with a sigh from my son to say mother you and technology do not go together.

I can relate. I have a 16yo son who is a techie too. Thank God! He sets everything up for me.

message 66: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 51 comments Hi everyone. I just joined this group, and though I'd add my books to this challenge. For some reason though it says I haven't read any books in 2016. I added a shelf called read 2016. I've so far read 18 books, so these should count toward the final goal shouldn't they?

I tried pressing the percentage link, but it just linked me to another page where it again stated I haven't read any books.

message 67: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 512 comments Hmm... when you entered your shelf for the challenge did you add the hyphen?

message 68: by Julie (new)

Julie Le Cras Lol I had similar problems but I noticed after a day my book covers was showing but not anything else. My son said I was not typing it correctly. Not sure if that helps you.

message 69: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 51 comments The hyphen? I added the whole link from the shelf. https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... should I not do that?

message 70: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 512 comments Try just typing read-2016. I don't know that this will work, lol. Just guessing :)

message 71: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 512 comments Also, sometimes if you're doing things from a mobile device it gets buggy.

Anita, you have to put the books you've read onto the shelf you created and they have to have a date read in 2016.

I know and that's what I've done.
As I said I have 18 books on the shelf all dated as read in 2016. Maybe I don't add the shelf correctly. I tried with the whole link.

Also haven't used the mobile app, as I don't really like using it.

message 74: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) Did you enter the shelf here as read-2016 or Read-2016? Apparently (as I've learned) case makes a difference.

message 75: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 51 comments I just copy-pasted from the address line.

message 76: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) That won't work. You have to type in the shelf name exactly as follows:

read-2016

message 77: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 51 comments Oh, thanks. Now it works :)

message 78: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) Yay!

message 79: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (last edited Feb 13, 2016 10:25PM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Welcome, Anita! And thanks for helping her, Jonetta. Don't know why I wasn't getting notifications from this links. I wasn't even getting any "red" indicators that there were unread posts, which I usually get when I check/clip the "unread" link for the group.

Hmmmmm....

message 80: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 51 comments Thank you Lisa Kay.

Jonetta was helpful, and yeah sometimes GR is tricky like that with notifications.

We are on day 45 out of 366 days this Leap Year.

Days into Challenge divided by Total Days of the Challenge = “on target percent”
45 / 366 = 12.295% “on target percent.”
We've read 1,416 books so far. So...
1,416 / 16,000 = 08.85%

Welcome! I love the Virgin River series too! I'll be starting Temptation Ridge in a few days after I get done with Fatal Mistake I love the Fatal series by Marie Force too. ; )

message 85: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 51 comments I really like Virgin River as well so far. Though I've only read the first 2 books. Plan is to squeeze a few more in this year, between all the other stuff I want to read :)

message 88: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yeah, I want to get back to Carr's Thunder Point series.

message 89: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 51 comments Wohoo. I'm 3 books ahead of schedule on my goal!

I just noticed that all the goals combined from the competitors of this challenge is only 10,000 something. I think we need to get more to join if we want to complete the challenge :)

message 90: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yeah, we do. **LK stresses out...**

message 91: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 512 comments LOL! I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh. Lisa Kay stresses about this every year and we always manage to pull through :) We can do it again! Have faith!

message 92: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I do, I do! Go ahead and laugh at me. I don't mind. LOL! It just makes me nervous.

Maybe Online Elf should sent out a global invite to everyone in RLftCI saying, "Help Lisa Kay calm down and chill a bit by joining." LOL!

message 97: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Aww, Lara. Sorry.

message 98: by Rosemarie (new)

Rosemarie I updated my book count from 50 to 75 books.

message 99: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Neat, Rosemarie.

message 100: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 51 comments My reading week has gone down horribly. Went down with a case of Pneumonia. Third day on penicillin and it's the second day in a row without a fever.
I've slowly started reading again yesterday, so hopefully I'll manage to squeeze in a couple more books in February.
