Better Than Before Mastering the Habits of Our Everyday Lives by Gretchen Rubin
Hi, I just read and posted a review of Gretchen Rubin's paperback edition of Better Than Before. She is known for writing about happiness, but this one is about habits and how to tweak your resolutions for your personality type.
Very good and has change my view so that now I look at habits as my friends.
From my review:
Author Gretchen Rubin has gained fame for her books on the search for happiness and finding practical ways to raise your own happiness level. Her latest book, Better Than Before, examines personality types and each is motivated to implement better habits.
This book comes with all sorts of materials for enrichment and support of us poor low-willpower types who flounder when it comes to implementing our noble New Year's resolutions. Ms. Rubin offers an online personality quiz to identify your tendency (Upholder, Questioner, Obliger, or Rebel), and several other printouts to help you get a handle on improving your life.
The importance of habit is that it saves your limited willpower for the really difficult things! Once something becomes a habit, you no longer have to spend willpower on making the choice to do X (X being a healthier diet, or an exercise program, or a work flow, etc).
