Suggested
break down of reading so that you can check in and let us know how you're going. The following breakdown is purely a suggestion and is therefore not set in stone.Rather than putting dates for each section I've done it so that it takes into account that not everybody will necessarily have the book at the same time.
Week 1: 45 pages
Week 2: 45 pages
Week 3: 45 pages
Week 4: 45 pages

Hi Caro,
I think the 'Cara' I had listed was in fact you but I couldn't read my own writing it seems. I apologise. Happy Holidays to you as well.
Can I join this buddy read? It would actually be a reread for me but to be honest, I really don't remember much of anything about this.
I finished this today. I liked it better this time than when I read it 5 years ago. I am eager to see what the rest of you think.
I finished the book! I really enjoyed and felt motivated to run again. I don't do it over a year ago when I had an injury that put me in sick leave for a month and took me over 7 months to completely recover... I had the injury running... But now I feel is time again to take out my snickers and hit the road....I also like it a lot to know a bit more of his life through the book pages how he describe himself and how he teach the importance of self discipline in our lives... I think this book should be read when we are before our 30's and it prepare us for our lives... But looking back now sometimes it makes me feel I could do so much more...
I agree that this makes you want to run. I run but not as much as I used to or nearly as much as I would like. Reading about his discipline of running daily was inspiring especially since he was older than I am now. I liked where he compared the discipline needed to write on a daily basis compared to the commitment to running consistently. He is probably right that one can't be an author if writing for a couple of hours seems like a big chore.
The last thing I really liked is that he doesn't spend any time in the book talking about his phenomenal success. A reader wouldn't know from this that he is a world famous author if they didn't know already.
