Welcome to the #SixtyBooks group on Goodreads!

The organizers of the #SixtyBooks Challenge are Melissa Morris Inoa and Laura Agnella. We both love using Goodreads to keep track of the books we read and to learn about new titles from fellow readers. We thought Goodreads would be a great place to discuss the #SixtyBooks Challenge, so we created this group!

We are excited to be a part of this reading movement and looking forward to discussing lots of books with you. Happy reading!

Cassandra | 3 comments Hello! Cassandra here! I'm a online English teacher for Georgia Virtual School after six years in a face-to-face school. Currently working on a MA in Instructional Tech and Design, I'm looking forward to returning to my English major roots.

My lit tastes are mostly classics, graphic novels, and nonfiction.

I'm really looking forward to this group and initiative.

Jamey Boelhower | 6 comments Hello,
Looking forward to this challenge. I was thinking of doing a book a week for 2016 but saw the hashtag on Twitter and thought this would be fun.

Hope to share and learn with everyone.

Kyla (quinnkq18) | 1 comments Hi,
I'm Kyla-a 4th grade teacher from Sarasota, Florida! Every year I encourage my students to participate in the 40 book challenge, so I decided to step up my game for 2016 and join in on the sixty book challenge :) Can't wait to see what others are reading!

Colette Clayton | 1 comments Hello, I am an English teacher of middle schoolers in Ohio. Very excited to get started on 60 in 2016!! Looking forward to share my list, but more so reading what others recommend

message 9: by Joanne (new)

Joanne Toft | 7 comments Hello - I am a retired elementary teacher who blogs, still helps in the schools, walks and gardens. O- yes I read and write daily, at least I try to. I am excited to see what others are reading. This is a great way to keep me pushing myself but also to see what others are reading around the country. I am a member of two book groups. One a group of retired teachers from my district in Minneapolis, Mn. and one is a group of folks who are interested in reading children's books.

Jamie | 5 comments Hi,
I'm Jamie, and I have a background in music education and gifted education. Currently, I teach a fifth grade class in Calgary (Canada). I read lots of middle grade titles to recommend to my students, and I try to pick up adult fiction (not just professional nonfiction) each year, too. I'm looking forward to finding some great recommendations from this group!

Susan Peterson (fuzzyhead77gmailcom) | 2 comments Hi! I'm Susan, and I'm a certified bookaholic!! I love nothing better than to read and interact with authors and other readers. My other love is Jazzercise, so if I'm not reading you can find me in a jazzercise class! I'm a retired teacher's aide, and I love that I have more time than ever now to read!!

message 13: by Megan (new)

Megan (megsterftw) | 2 comments Hey y'all, I'm Megan. I used to read a ton and then had a dry spell through college, so I've just been getting back into reading in the last year. I was already planning for 60 books this year when I found this group so I'm psyched!

message 14: by Jeffrey (new)

Jeffrey Keefer (jeffreykeefer) | 9 comments Intrigued by #SixtyBooks as I have mentioned on Twitter https://twitter.com/hashtag/sixtybook... a couple times, and while I cannot manage this many books given my work and studies, I will commit to 2 books a month. I am a Director of Training and Knowledge Management at a national nonprofit organization that creates parks and protects land for people while also part-time uni teaching of research and teaching & learning. Glad to be part of this group, and hope we can support one another to not only read more, but to share what we read and be more informed in how we engage with one another.

message 15: by Lynne (new)

Lynne | 3 comments I'm Lynne, and I'm an associate editor for teaching resource books and materials. I read a wide range of things, from YA to classics, but lately have veered toward lighter fare for escapism. I am looking forward to another year of finding new books and authors and trying some titles outside of my comfort zone.

message 16: by Carole (new)

Carole Matthews | 2 comments Hi, I'm Carole - PK-12 School Librarian and k-6 Technology teacher from rural northwest Nebraska. Working on The Irish Heart Series between finishing first semester grades. Also re-reading October Sky. I am usually reading something and this group looked like a challenge to track and reflect on what I read.
Told my daughter I need to join twice. Once for the picture books I read to my youngest students and once for the longer book I read for myself and the older students.
