I starting to not be surprised by the 'violence' in the book. I mean they aren't chopping off peoples heads and writing about it in graphic detail but still. Making 7 year olds watch something that is going to be violent/gruesome AND they get the best view. -.-

How old did they say Laia is again? I figured they were around the same age but I assumed Laia was closer to Elias' age.

Oh yeah its a very animated website so they probably use a lot of flash or java, which won't work well on tablets :(

It's funny because the audiobook narrators pronounce "Laia" as "Liar" LOL

It makes it seem SO much more real!!! They have such great voices!!! The male narrator who does Elias' chapters is SO GOOD! Especially during the auger part.

Glossary. I'm trying to find the words Centurion, Yearling, Masks, etc. There is an explanation when each is mentioned but I forget things easily and would like a better understanding of what they mean in the book. :(

Why has no one else really mentioned the masks!!! They are freaking me out!!! I finished Part 1! (view spoiler)[The trials have begun. Poor Laia has had a rough first 10 days ... but I'm SO glad she didn't get caught reading over the Commandant's shoulder! Phew! And clearly Elias had some love at first sight happen when he saw her!! He's all protective of her. I hope Marcus doesn't get a hold of her ... (hide spoiler)]

I can tell you right now you are in for a few disappointments and anger. MAJOR SPOILERS DO NOT READ THIS TILL THE END OF THE BOOK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING(view spoiler)[ The second part is full of ups and downs. Elias doesn't win the trials. He ends up killing many of his platoon as well as many of Helene's platoon. Marcus kills Zac and he wins the trials because Elias refuses to follow the orders of Caine to kill Laia whom he has come to love.

Laia is thought to be dead but Marcus's swords actually pierced one of the female Augurs. Laia escapes and plans to rescue not only Elias who she also has some feelings for although nowhere near what Elias has for her but also Izzy her new friend.

The old man who runs the rebels whose name I cannot remember for the moment betrays her and kills the Emperor instead of trying to rescue her brother who is STILL imprisoned. Keenan ends up loving her but Laia is torn a bit between Elias and Keenan as well as not knowing who to trust.

Well the first trial just ended. I can't believe the two Farah (sp?) brothers cheated!!! How'd they not get caught when the augurs can read minds!? I can't believe they got away with it ... they can't read the Commandante's (sp?) thoughts because she's too "dark", but, why can't they read the brothers thoughts?!

I didn't catch why the Commendante carved a "K" in Laia's chest? Why a "K"? At least she didn't take an eye ...

I'm waiting to see how Darrin (sp?) had been able to draw the Tallaman's (sp?) blades and his shop, and why he took a liking to Laia!

I hope Helene doesn't die! She needs to help Elias through trials two and three! (hide spoiler)]

It was to mark her as Keris's slave. It's also explained later on how Darrin was able to draw the blades and why the blacksmith likes Laia. I was also angered that the brothers got away with cheating!!! -.-

Laia has been kind of boring so far, but I'm excited to see what happens now that she's at the school.

I also like Helene, and it sort of seems like she has a thing for Elias, which may be bad in the future, because I'm assuming that Elias and Laia are gonna be a thing? Anyway.
