I ended up loving Asher and I'm so happy that he was able to help Kate heal since Beau or her mother weren't the ones who could do that for her. I'm happy that in the end Kate developed a great relationship with her mother and her and Beau are happy together. I'm going to read the novella. But for me this book was emotionally draining and it lacked something to make it great. The book Brightside gave me 3/4 of the story that made me smile and laugh and a character that I truly loved and it made the pain worth it. I no Kate healed in this story, and Asher got to love before he died but I think the story was overly sad and lacked something. So it was good but not great. (hide spoiler)]

I think if it had been included as part of this story and not separate, it might have made the difference. Once I got to know Beau and see how Asher truly changed Kate, I connected with her more. Chapter 16 (view spoiler)[I need a little breather from this book. It's quite intense! With all that stuff to hit the fan with Beau and things escalating with Asher, add to it that I'm not so sure how much I have faith in Kate and Asher's relationship, it makes me cringe a little.

But, I did like that The Calling was referenced! Sounds like the song she's describing is Our Lives. Yes!!! Brings back memories... (hide spoiler)]

Am I the only one left still reading this? Just finished Chapter 25. I took a bit of a break yesterday from this and now I've slowed it down. I plowed through the remainder of it and still reeling from it! It didn't make me ugly cry but got me so edgy and worked up.
