Rachel Annie (snapdragoness) | 18 comments I just noticed the following author has a book that appears to need to be combined.

https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

As a GR librarian, can I just click the "Combine Editions" hyperlink and follow the prompts?

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments Yes, in addition the series info in the title needs to be changed to conform to GR standards as does the author name that needs a dot after the initial

Rachel Annie (snapdragoness) | 18 comments Great!

I'll review the manual one more time for that section and go for it. ☺

Rachel Annie (snapdragoness) | 18 comments Just saw your edit. I'm looking in the manual for the template for what the series info in the title should look like to conform to standards. Could you link to that section when you had a minute?

Thanks again.

Rachel Annie (snapdragoness) | 18 comments I'm assuming a good sample would be

(Chronicles of Narnia, #1)

and removing the word "series" as well?

message 6: by Rachel Annie (new)

Rachel Annie (snapdragoness) | 18 comments Actually, I'm seeing this book seems to be by author: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

I don't think I'm qualified to make these updates, sorry!

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments You have to start somewhere

Maybe at a later date after I've read through the manual more thoroughly. At this time I don't feel comfortable combining multiple editions over at least two author profiles.

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments Ok, but by adding the dot to the author name on the book edit page, u are moving the books to the correct author profile so there is only one author involved

That's kind of where I freaked out a little bit. I went to add the dot first and then I got the message "this author is responsible for making her own edits", and it sent me to the other profile.

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments That's why I indicated you needed to then edit the author name on the book page, and not the author page, that moves books to the correct author when the author is a GR author. ( only staff or the author can edit profiles that have been claimed)

I have sorted it now

Edit: appear to be missing a comment where I gave you the steps to follow "My you have to start some where" then had the steps to follow to do it, don't know what happened to that bit, did not post

There is a follower on the non-GR author profile. I have requested a merge for both author profiles.
