Things that we need to do:

General character creation form
Locations

The Full Bookshelf Reviews I'll get the Character Creation.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

I more meant to discuss it so we all agree on what needs to be on it. If you want to create the actual form once we've discussed it, go ahead. =)

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Can you give me an idea of some of the stuff I should definitely put on there

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Of course. I guess I'm too excited about BUILDING THIS GROUP!

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Better than anything I was thinking of. It's great!

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Play around with the actual formatting and organization. I really just put it in the order I think of that stuff in. And yeah.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

So, locations?

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Um... Well, you'd think there would be some local businesses of some sort. Maybe a few run down resturants and shops, and a few abandoned buildings.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay, and what should the differences be between the two universes?

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Okay, so, like you said, they both have their positives and negatives, so I'm thinking we should switch everything we think we know about the universes around.

The Light Universe - The inhabitants live here are doormats to people of authority, bring forced to give up everything to please others and existing only for others' needs. They do get rewarded in some instances, but must be prepared to give up said reward or an thing else important to them. Therefore, they are not entitled to become attached to anything or anyone, and, over time, they become emotionally numb.

The Dark Side - The inhabitants of the Dark Side are on the opposite end; they hold the power and want everything for themselves. However, this means that they can not care for anyone under any circumstance, as they must be ready to betray them should they have to for their own personal needs. They can not take others into consideration at all, and they eventually become lonely and feel distressed due to their leadership.

Sound good? :)

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

That's good. Why don't you add it to the premise page?

However, I meant more as in what will be the differences between the locations in the light universe and the ones in the dark universe? (The first posts in locations will also include the description of said place)

So we'll have:
Restaurants -- maybe a fast food, a cafe, and something fancy?
Shops -- books, clothes?
Abandoned buildings -- maybe one like a fighting arena, another housing black market stuff?
Night clubs -- maybe a couple different?

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Resturants- Yup, those three will be just enough variety, I think.

Stores - A bookstore seems like a great idea to me, as well as a sort of consignment clothes shop that mostly has dirty, worn, used stuff (reflecting the selfless people of the light universe who will settle for anything and often donate their nicest things,) and a new, expensive place with flashy, elaborate clothing to reflect the people of the dark universe.

Abandoned Buildings/Miscellaneous - Yes, maybe an old arena that used to do boxing or wrestling and then a sort of flea market business type thing where people sell their food and stolen items.

Sound good? :)

The Full Bookshelf Reviews As for that fancy resturant, I'm saying upscale Italian or Asian Bistro, gourmet.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay, yeah. So, naming.

Other things --

streets, alleys, parks, water areas (maybe a waterfront area so we could have some docks)?

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Maybe some sort of medical thing?

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Apparently I'm not good with nanes now, sorry. :P

Streets - Obviously we should have some specifically according to what is there. (Example - the department store and the fancy resturant can be on the same street, and the fast food place and the consignment shop can be on a different one.) I think that the bookstore and the cafe can be on a sort of neutral street, the place where the light and dark side sort of collide.

Alleys - I think that the street for the Light Universe inhabitants and the one for the Dark Universe should be connected by three small, dark, interconnected alleys. There's an alley in the center, one on the right, and one on the left, and which alley you take determines which street you'll end up on. The alleyways are located between the cafe and bookstore.

Waterfront Areas - A murky lake where the citizens aren't supposed to be swimming, but some rebels end up doing just that anyway.

Medical Care - A big hospital dating back seventy years, and hardly renovated, so it's looking pretty rough.

?

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay. The light and dark bits would have to be connected by mirrors though.

So I'm thinking that maybe one folder for light universe locations and another for dark universe locations. And then another for residences (with an LU || or DU || to denote to which universe each belongs).

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, makes sense for forests. And maybe a grove of trees somewhere too? And definitely an apartment building -- though maybe we should have a hotel, too? There should be specialized shops. Maybe in the dark universe people usually disguise their species? I don't know what else could foster good relations for the species. Maybe in the light universe, there's a town hall or something? And an actual gladiator thing in the dark universe?

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay. That makes sense.

The light universe allegedly has a strong government, so we need to work out what it will be.

I feel like something smaller would be easier to manage. Though if it gets bigger we could add more.

Yay, gladiators! Maybe they try to find people from the light universe to put there?

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry for missing out so much! Weekends are messy :3

pathetic question alert

So if the light and dark world parallel to each other its like a theory of parallel universe..wouldn't that mean that there was a double of everything? so two of everyone as well?

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

I think so. So should there in the form be something about the doubles also?

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Also should the town hall/gladiator arena be the first places the people built in their respective universes?

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

I think one person. You all?

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, I think I'll make it so that appears on the form for character creation.

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Maybe only some characters can have alter egos, Happy. So you could always have the option when creating a character. (Sorry I haven't been on much today, guys. I'm still here.)

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

So you don't think all the characters should have a version in the liht universe AND one in the dark?

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Also, Elf, when do you want me to make the Character Creation thread? Or are we done with it?

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Mmm... seems like it would be hard to keep up with if there was one for EVERY character, don't you think? And the process of making one character would result in making two.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

We need to work out how best to do it, though, with some having counterparts. Like what we could do is have one form but a light universe personality, a dark universe personality, a light universe history, and a dark universe history. Or we could make everyone fill out the form twice if they want both counterparts.

The Full Bookshelf Reviews Does every character have to have one, though, or are there some individual characters?

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

I feel like everyone would, but that's just my opinion.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

I've been reading and watching a lot of parallel universe stuff so I think the best would be if the roleplayer is given a choice as whether to or not double side his/her character

message 36: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) | 40 comments Mod
Yeah, I think people should have the option as to whether they should make their double or not.

message 37: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) | 40 comments Mod
Also I have a suggestion. A lot of mythology says that vampires don't have reflections. So maybe Vampires can pass through mirrors and switch to the other side, and they don't have a double?

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay, so we'd need to add vampires in. But would they be called the same thing in both universes?

message 39: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) | 40 comments Mod
I think so.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay.

message 41: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) | 40 comments Mod
Does that make sense?

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah

message 43: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) | 40 comments Mod
Alright SO what else?

The Full Bookshelf Reviews I guess since there are more mods we can sort of put the final touches on the character bios? I think some things have changed since we first discussed it.

And do the different species have any obvious differences in physical appearance. (I'm pretty sure the elves do, but what about everyone else?)

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Elves and mages or just elves have pointy ears?

The Full Bookshelf Reviews I had plans for a female mage. Could I maybe have her hair cover her ears to make my FC easier?

message 47: by The Full Bookshelf Reviews (last edited Dec 21, 2015 08:45AM) (new)

The Full Bookshelf Reviews

?

message 48: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) | 40 comments Mod
Halsey hell yeah!

message 49: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) | 40 comments Mod
What time period is this in? Like is one medieval and the other modern?
I think that'd be cool so people can choose which they want. Also I have perfect gifs of my mage for that situation xD

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

I hadn't worked that out yet. XD What do you all think? I mean, I think it's okay if the ears in images aren't pointy so long as it's mentioned in the description. . . .
