There's nothing wrong with being a slow reader. My son is an extremely slow reader which is probably why he doesn't tend to read very much.

It is very healthy to not finish a bad book. Sometimes it's just the wrong time to read that book, and sometimes it's just a bad book. Good luck with your challenge!
