Gergana Ok....So 2015 challenge didn't really go well. I read...what?....4 books. Well, I'm not going to moan about it now. I read a lot of other interesting classics this year, I re-read a few favourites and isn't that the point of it after all: enjoying yourself while reading.
So here is my second attempt of this challenge. I might change some of the books, but this is the list...for now. :D

Old: 1899 and earlier

1. Middlemarch
2. The Red and the Black
3. A Simple Story

New: 1900-1999

4. Buddenbrooks: The Decline of a Family(possibly in German, if I can)
5. The Color Purple
6. Olivia

My Wild Card Six

7. Moby-Dick; or, The Whale
8. A Vindication of the Rights of Woman
9. The Well of Loneliness
10. A View of the Harbour
11. We, the Drowned
12. The Fountain Overflows

Alternates
A-1. Aurora Leigh
A-2. Cider With Rosie

You and me both. Happy reading.

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1685 comments Hi Gergana!

In February, Lesserknowngems and I and perhaps others if they wish to join, will be doing a side read/buddy read in this group for TMann's "The Buddenbrooks."

This book has been nominated in some of the polls for this group, but hasn't ever won.

That would be great. I've been looking for someone to read it for IRL, but most people seem to be discouraged by the size of the book. I'd love to join, depending on my schedule in February.

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1685 comments I hope you can join us, but I understand "schedule" issues IRL.

:)
