Arenda | 26447 comments That is because B&N works with a pseudo-isbn. We can't use info from B&N. Based on the URL in message 2, I could create a Nook edition: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Please note: these bookseller links are different for every Goodreads user, and they only work when you are on the right edition. The link for B&N will only work from the Nook-edition, not from the paperback edition.
The paperback edition has an isbn, and works when searching on Amazon. The other link to Amazon is not something we can add.

Arenda | 26447 comments Women's Liberation has three editions.
The paperback edition and the Kindle edition with the ASIN work fine when using the Amazon link.
Because there is a Kindle edition with a new cover (and no option for the ASIN on Goodreads to be used multiple times) the link on Amazon searches for the title. The Kindle edition is the first on that page.
There is nothing we can change about that.

lethe | 16368 comments I don't know what you mean by 'bogus copy'. I click the Amazon link, it takes me to the book's page on Amazon.

Goodreads is a cataloguing site. We do not get rid of editions that are no longer published.

Which links to Celebrate Life do you mean? The links that are there, work. As Arenda explained to you in msg #3, every user chooses their own links. If a reader has a link to Barnes & Noble, they can use that.

Where would you want us to put the two links you gave in msg #2 msg #1? The URL field is not for links to retailers, and as explained earlier, each user chooses their own 'to buy' links.

I get a 404 error message on the link you posted in msg #4.

(This above is the correct link for amazon that I gave."

And how is that link different from the one the Kindle edition links to? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B...

My initial plea for help was for a LIBRARIAN to add a link (see link #2 here,) for my poetry book.

Could you be more precise what you mean by link #2? Because all the links I see are not links that can be added by librarians.

The book at the top of that list is the exact same book that your link links to. If the second book on that list is not supposed to be there, you have to take it up with Amazon.

As Arenda already explained, on an edition without ISBN or ASIN the links search for author/title, and there is nothing we can change about that.

lethe | 16368 comments Copying and pasting from Arenda's msg #2:

The other link to Amazon is not something we can add. (emphasis mine)

No, I used 'link' when I meant link and 'msg' when I meant message?

ETA Ah, I see in msg #5 I used 'msg #2' when I meant 'msg #1'. Sorry about adding to the confusion.

After this try, I'm done. I can't stay here all day trying to get this link added."

See my reply to msg #11 in msg #12: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

The edition is already in GR: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

Where would you want us to put the link? The 'get a copy' links are added by users and are not book-specific. The URL field is not intended for links to retailers (as explained in msg #5).
