Okay, I just heard what Google Glass is (correct me if I'm wrong)--glasses with Internet access. Well, did that remind anyone else of the Smarteyes in this novel? Maybe not so extreme as in the book, but still. Thoughts on this?

Iris now that i think of it.... yeah it sounds like it...that's kinda scary but cool...but scary O.O

Ilana i got that similar impressions with this as well as with the finale installment in the Uglies series where they have the glass or visor that talks about social currency, news and all that just in your eye.

Dramapuppy Yes, there's definitely a parallel. Have you ever read The Veldt? If not, you can read it here: http://www.veddma.com/veddma/Veldt.htm

It's like that. The author takes a technology we have/ will have soon and imagines a world where that technology dominates and destroys the world. (Bradbury did it better because he left his characters to experience the tech instead of sending out into the wilderness). This is their way of saying that they think tech has gone too far.
