Pay-it-foward read and review challenge
I've gotta ask. I thought you couldn't rate and review books on Amazon without having paid for them. If someone send you a pdf of the book for free, how can you leave an amazon review?
You can do reviews without buying them. Buying them from Amazon gives the "Verified Amazon Purchase" thing but you don't need to.Yes, Tiger, we are buying them. (At least I am).

Hey Jason, I have and am buying the ones I review, but for future reference
How do you do that? My 'write a review' doesnt pop up unless I bought it or got it during a free Amazon day? Is there a special
place we need to looking?
This is a terrific idea! Here are the books I've chosen to read from those of you who've posted on this thread:The Shadow Miner (Katie Beitz)
Chain of Prophecy (Jason Patrick Crawford)
The Seventh Sentinel (Yolando Ramos)
Now I'm off to purchase those books and begin reading them! :) I'll post my reviews on both Amazon and Goodreads.
Here is my book, Laika in Lisan:

It's actually free on Amazon today (May 15), so I won't get paid if anyone chooses to read it. However, I'm completely fine not receiving a reciprocal purchase, because simply getting reviews and ratings would be wonderful! :)
Wren wrote: "If you click on the link to see the reviews, it gives you the option to write your own."Thanks, I just can't do it on my phone, I guess. Found it on the PC fine. :)

Thank you, Michael! I'm glad you enjoyed it...and that you took a chance, even if you were worried!Maybe you'll think one of my other books is "great" when I get them out there ;)

I just realized that everyone's got very catchy book titles. Aside from eye catching covers a title is also the second thing an author sees, so yeah, a lot of good sounding names of books everyone!
@Justinthanks! titles are very important. I bet we can all think of titles that put us off of a book we might otherwise have enjoyed.

it sucks when you think you have a unique title and realise it's a common one >_< like this one
i couldn't think of anything to change it. and it was already in print for a good while (6 years)...
@ K.P Yeah that is pretty common. Originally NDT was titled Sacrificial Magic, but I googled it and realized a ton of authors had used that already. If I ever get around to reading CR I'll throw some ideas your way if you want.

thanks! i get so burdened with trying to come up with a snappy title, but then i get too esoteric about it and folks are like wut. i don't have anyone to bounce ideas off of (i stutter, so i avoid talking to people like the plague). whenever you want a copy, let me know. i can wait. :)
I like the discussion of titles. :) Sadly, I fear that I should have picked a better title for my book. "Laika in Lisan" meets the goal of being unique, but it isn't snappy or attention-grabbing. It started as a working title and I had every intention of changing it before publishing, but I couldn't think of anything better. Eventually the title grew on me, so I kept it because I liked it. In hindsight, I realize I should have considered something else because the average potential reader won't be drawn to what is basically a confusing title. ("Who the hell is Laika? Is that even a name? And what's Lisan?" :))

Oh, are you willing to provide a review copy? If so I'll take a look as soon as I am done with the three or four books ahead of yours. (I'm broke)

Thanks, Katie!
Finished Atancia:)Link for review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I also posted on Amazon. Great book, Wren. Can't wait for the second.
Let me know when it's published. I'll save a couple of dollars on my highly over-used card for a read and review:)
Will do! Thanks! Oh, and if you like torture (which I seem to, lol) I have a few teasers from the second book on my GR blog.
This...is...amazing!LOVE the idea, and it seems to be very successful!
I would like to add my book, Bloodline into the mix. It is a YA/SciFi/thriller. It is also book #1 in a trilogy and I am working on the third and final book right now. For that reason, I will be slow in my reviews, but I promise to get them out eventually. I already have David's book added and I have seen several others that look good. (but his is first. :) )
Here is mine!

just about done with writing my review for
and giddily pouring through
.
Has anyone given a fellow Fringer a less than happy review through this process? I've been struggling for days on what's going to be a two-star review. It's honest, it's my real response, and I hope that's what we're doing here, but everyone seems so enthusiastic and celebratory all the time I just wonder if I'm the first person to encounter a book that didn't please them as a reader (I mean a fellow Fringer's book). I know that a variety of reviews is said to give the good reviews more integrity, so I shouldn't feel that I'm hurting this writer with my opinion, but I've never posted lower than a three-star before so I've revised and revised this two-star review as diligently as if I were writing a book, trying to make it constructive and well-supported.
