That's okay, Heather. I like happy faces too! And I loved your book, Jason. But I am tired and cranky today so you should be sorry:)
I already posted my review for Totem. I am reading Atancia. at the moment Next wil be Into the veil.
David wrote: "I already posted my review for Totem. I am reading Atancia. at the moment Next wil be Into the veil."I liked Totem, and I'm starting Atancia this week. It looks interesting. How are you liking it?
I am sorry you're cranky, Jennifer. I'm just ecstatic that you liked my book as much as I liked yours :)
I really like Atancia. Its got my interest hooked so far. Its a steady increase in suspence in the plot. Its nice. I have to say that I am in love with Atancia and Ben should back off. And in the sequel I think Wren should make me as the sexy love interest and marry her and have amazing babies :)
Atancia doesn't sound like a book I'd like but given all the talk about it my interest has certainly perked.

Justin wrote: "Atancia doesn't sound like a book I'd like but given all the talk about it my interest has certainly perked."I'm guessing you probably wouldn't like the first half, but the second half maybe....
I wrote it with a YA female audience in mind, so I wouldn't expect it to be everyone's cup of tea.
Yus! >:) When will the second be out? I'm 80% of the way done with the second installment in the restricted saga for the first draft
David wrote: "Yus! >:) When will the second be out? I'm 80% of the way done with the second installment in the restricted saga for the first draft"It's with my editor for a final check. Once she sends it back I'll set a date.
Make it like the day after haha cuz I wanna read it. You can expect a good review of Atancia so far :)
@monica fair point but I think when I call it urban fantasy people go in to the book expecting certain things, then go away disappointed because it feels like I broke a promise to them as an author (a female main, romance heavy, and so on). Also it might just be me but so far I feel like we have very similar styles, similar things we wrote about, so given that I love your book so far!
Sarah wrote: "Review posted for What Hides Within! Great book. True story: woke up with my ear clogged (allergies), but for a second I was like, oh hell no. I would love more reviews for my book, Rokula, if an..."
Your book is actually on my list to buy soon as I get the chance!
Thanks for buying my book, Katie, and Heather. Almost done with Famine, then will tackle Into the Veil. After that, will read The Shadow Miner. Read a sample and it got me interested. Heather, read one short story, will read the others and post review.
I just wanted to mention that no one is under obligation to write reviews. That's not really the point of the challenge, which is to just post your book, then read three more from fringe members.I think it's wonderful how many are doing everything, buying, reading, rating and reviewing. You guys are awesome. At the same time, if someone decides to read, and say, doesn't want to do more than post a rating, that's their choice, and it doesn't make anyone any less awesome.
It's a wonderful challenge and adore this thread. I would just hate to see the spirit of the challenge get lost.
If anyone wants to join in on the challenge, but doesn't have a book to offer, by all means, join the fun.
On a personal side note, I am SO behind. Please remain patient with me. Stay tuned...
Wren- I read the synopsis and it does sound like I would enjoy it to a degree so we shall see.
C- I'm reading Totem now, finally!
Sarah- Rokula is calling out to me, most likely will be my 3rd read, either that or What Hides Within by Jason Parent, though he doesn't need the review or publicity since hes got a good chunk of readers already lol.

Tiger wrote: "@monica fair point but I think when I call it urban fantasy people go in to the book expecting certain things, then go away disappointed because it feels like I broke a promise to them as an author..."I think of urban fantasy as de-emphasizing romance in favor of action, and I don't see why the MC needs to be female. I *do* see a problem with readers blending paranormal romance and urban fantasy in their minds.
Yes, we do have similar styles. :D FYI, I love the inclusion of Middle Eastern (Zoroastrian--am I right?) mythology in your book!
@monicaYou got it in one!
I'm in love with your book so far. I can tell how much time and care went in to it. I seriously can't put it down and believe me, if I hated it I would tell you so!
Man, some of you read so fast! I feel like a slacker 'cause I'm still reading No Deadly Thing. I've got a pile of books between all y'all and the library, plus I'm trying to fast draft two novels before July. Gah!
I posted this on the Social Media thread, but thought this was a good place to add it since this is such an active thread. I have a Pinterest board set up to feature indie books; it's called Indie Book Take-a-Look. If anyone wants their book added, just send me a message with the title, a sales link, and a 500 CHARACTER blurb (description, review quote, whatever). I'll gladly add your cover and info to the board. (If you're on Pinterest, I ask that you follow the board in return.) You can check it out here: bit.ly/1j0LZb2
David wrote: "This may sound stupid.... But what characterizes a book as indie??"Only unasked questions are stupid. :D Indie is self-published or published by a very small press.

:D Thanks! And, I hope so. I've got pretty thick skin and an even thicker skull!

Thanks for the review, Sarah! And I would encourage others to read Rokula, particularly if they are fans of... what she said! (that was a mouthful)

I'm enjoying your novel so far. I'm about half way through, but am back at work for the next few days so it will probably have to wait until the weekend for me to finish it.
Would be grateful for more reviews/pick ups for my book, The Seventh Sentinel, an urban fantasy, here is the link:http://www.amazon.com/Seventh-Sentine....https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Am almost done with Shivers and David I will pick up your book next.

I don't have a book to throw in the ring here, but I will definitely read and review some of these books. I absolutely adore the cover art of your book Sarah! Kudos to the artist!

I am writing my own Book 2 and I am taking a giant bookload because I love reading and I want to support my fellow authors by reading, rating, and promoting their books. I expect the same kindness back. And despite the huge list I got which will take me about three weeks to finish, I am still open to getting recommendations and requests :)
