Doobie Shemer (doobie_shemer) | 10 comments Hi,
Couldn't find a way to delete single edition. Please help.
This one should be removed/hide/deleted: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Thanks,
Doobie,

Amanda | 2442 comments How do I delete my book from the Goodreads database?

Deleting published books from our system is against policy. Goodreads is striving to be a complete database of all published works, including works that are out-of-print. We like our members to be able to add their exact edition to their virtual shelves. Just as a library would not remove a record from its catalog, so do we not remove books from our database.

However, if your book was never published and never will be published, we might be able to remove it. Please contact us.

Doobie Shemer (doobie_shemer) | 10 comments Thank you - makes perfect sense.
In that case - how can I (hope I can) designate an edition to a channel?
E.g. the edition I am referring to is available only CreateSpace.com, not on Amazon store and nowhere else.
Thanks,
Doobie,

Book links to other sites are customized on a per-user basis (each user chooses theirs), not a per-book basis.

Doobie Shemer (doobie_shemer) | 10 comments Ok, so I can I - an author - prevent users from searching book/edition on a link where it doesn't exist?

No, but those links are customizable. It means that the links you and I see under the same book are different. Some of the links search by title, some by ISBN/ASIN.

If there is something you wish to inform your readers about an edition you can put it in your edition review, as you are author your review is marked as "review by author" and will be on top of the community reviews.

Doobie Shemer (doobie_shemer) | 10 comments Thanks, it is unfortunate.
It means that a user - potential buyer/reviewer - would reach linked store, e.g. Kindle store but won't find my book there, not knowing that it is actually available on Kindle but he/she had to select the correct edition - the only one that linked to Kindle store.
Perhaps GR should consider giving authors better control over where their book/edition can be found.

But how do you know what stores people see? That is why it is personalized. Some use independent sellers.

Also there are a lot of editions, I'm sure they will be able to find it.

One thing you can do though is set a default edition, the one you think will be easier to find to buy or whatever other criteria you have by following these steps:

Hi,

I was trying to add myself as a contributor to The Sleepers Almanac No. 6 but accidentally created duplicate entries. Can you please delete these and direct me to where (or how) I add myself as contributor to books? Many thanks. Here are the duplicated links:

Z-squared | 8575 comments re 9, that's not something you have the permissions to do. you have to ask a librarian to add you to the pre-existing edition, which i have done now. i'm also merging your duplicates right now.
