YA book written in the early 2000s. Book is supposedly published journal entries of a missing teenage girl.

I've been searching for this book for a while with no luck. I don't remember the author, title, or character names. The plot, however, is about a girl who has started a journal. Each entry is a letter to a friend of hers who she no long speaks to. She is being stalked by her ex boyfriend because he wants her to come back to a religious group that her and her friend were a part of. The religious group is never given a name. But she worships someone called HIM or an animal. She ends up going back to the religious group after her friend went missing to find answers. She never returned. The books is supposedly published by this girls boyfriend in hopes of finding her. There was even a website in the back that stated to come forward with any info regarding the missing girl. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's one of those stories that sticks with you and I would really like to read it again.
