Nate | 4557 comments ...I swore I'd never get married, why f-up what we have? But I also know how important it is to her and I suppose it'd be selfish to deny her the dream of walking down the isle and that whole fairy-tale. errr nightmare. So....yeah.

Yeah you should have seen Richard's reaction when I mentioned you guys were engaged and getting married eventually. It was hilarious.

message 3154: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments Lynx - I'm not sure I want to know just what the reaction was...laughter or pure shock.

message 3155: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments I still got 2...3 years? I want 2020, she'll be done with school and its my own lil inside joke. cus hindsight is 20/20 ....

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten | 5901 comments Nate wrote: "Lynx - I'm not sure I want to know just what the reaction was...laughter or pure shock."

Both. Lol.

Ha. Yeah, do 2020. XD

message 3157: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments Everyone is pushing for sooner cus I proposed last year so its like a 4 yr engagement. I'm like what's the hurry? and I really like 2020. If I cave on certain things for her she'll concede to let me have 2020...though not sure how much I am willing to compromise. THIS alone is a huge compromise...is that not enough?

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten | 5901 comments Does it matter if it's a 4 year engagement? Or even the decision for any of them? Consider it extra time for saving and planning. I would have loved to have so much time for planning and crap. Not only that but more family could have made it. As someone who planned a wedding in a matter of months (we had to change the date so some asshole family members could go) and helped a friend plan, 4 years sounds like a way less stressful dream

message 3159: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments That's what I say, not to mention....well ok, maybe it just puts off the inevitable but still look at the bright side. Plenty of time to plan and change things. I want small, and quick ceremony. She wants the dream wedding. smh I told her just let me know where and when I need to be there, she can do the rest...but then I add things like I'm not wearing lavender or any pastel shades....no stupid things like releasing doves and....the list goes on then she gets irritated and says I have to take part in some of the planning...isn't that what wedding planners do? what do we them for ?

message 3160: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments Goal- retire at 35 human years

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten | 5901 comments We had a small and quick ceremony. So did our friends. Sometimes that's all you need for a lovely wedding. Ours was done in 5 minutes. 15 max for our friends with a pagan wedding, and maybe 30 for another friend who had a more religious ceremony. It's nice having a simple, sweet, custom ceremony. I suggest taking at least a little action in planning, though. Definitely a no go list in order of how much you care (or to make it more positive you could have a list of things you would like to have a say in, such as colors). But it's super stressful to plan a wedding and sometimes some input can seriously help. Ted had a similar stance of leaving it all to me. We got into so many fights because he just would not give me input

message 3162: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments I suppose, some impute might elevate some arguing though...I just don't even want to go there, I mean we've got plenty of time, weather I win out and get 2020 or we bump it up we've still got at least 2 yrs. I don't see the rush but they (my sis and her friends) get all giddy and excited about planning. I want low key but I think its gonna end up being a bit more than I want...c'est la vie
which is odd cus neither of us have huge families.

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten | 5901 comments Gotcha. Yeah low key is nice. One, cheaper. And second, you actually can relax. By the end of our wedding day and during our reception, we wanted nothing to do with any of our guests. Literally we just wanted to sit down and have a chance to eat. XD same with our friends at their wedding. By the time the reception was underway they kinda hit a point of just wanting to eat.

message 3164: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments My sisters wedding and reception was waaaaaay tooo much,....she had a lot of extra too so, but about an hour after the reception started I needed to breath, I stepped out for bit, I can only imagine being the groom or bride and you're expected to be present. smh They're going to have to give me some space and let me have a break or its not going to go well.

I'll add that to my list - down time btw ceremony and reception

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten | 5901 comments Definitely.

Looks like I am working Friday DAY instead of night which means I can't work this shift so they owe me another shift and my holiday begins Sunday. Guess who's gonna end up working a double? c'est la vie, that's time and a half...I'll take it.

Goodreads Social
The crypt
Writing on the wall
The Devils Advocate

message 3179: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments Sometimes the very thing I admire about her is also the thing that drives me mad....pouring rain, and there is this little turtle in the parking lost, its dark and Cass is worried the turtle is going to get run over. After about 15 minutes of pleading guess who went down to remove said turtle and relocate it to a safer location. smh

message 3180: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments Went out to a club, we're just getting back and now I have a pounding headache. This was not how I intended to finish off the evening.

message 3181: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments I can't help but think this headache is symbolic...

message 3182: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments headache is starting to eb, though I'm in a strange mood, not sure how to describe it.

message 3183: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments My sister should be arriving shortly...explains the sudden drop in temp. Brrrrrrrr

message 3184: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments So the abuse has begun...
I asked my sister how her flight was, she goes into how it was fine and blah blah blah, meanwhile I held a puzzled expression she finally asks what my expression was all about
"I just hadn't realized how far broom flight had advanced."

*smack* "always the smartass." She laughed.

Nate | 4557 comments Out to dinner. Bored. I feel like the third wheel. My sis and Cass have been talking non-stop.
