His bid was for about $400 less than me and he was going to have to buy the paint and everything on top of it, which would probably in all likelihood add up to about $300- $400 alone, meaning he'd be working for free. Quite shocking considering Alex is usually a bit more business savvy than this. I think his eagerness to beat me out of something overtook him. Which is pretty much what dad told him. His greed got in the way and almost cost him more than he'd have earned. Don't sign up for something until you've done the research.

Dad said he would pay us both to do the work, and equal amount and he'd supply the materials.

Yea it can be crazy. That's why I don't rp anywhere else other than my own groups. Might be biased, but I like to say that mine is better than most. It's not "advanced" or based off a tv show or book. It's a growing group that's still around after 3 years. Don't see that very often. Naturally we've had some issues with people (usually somehow is my fault oops), but we clean it up. This new person might be leaving real soon. We're starting to lose our patience with them. You don't come into a group and think you can start changing things. That's called rude. And Joe is already done with then because they don't know how to use punctuation and that might be his biggest pet peeve. I'm just waiting for him to see the newest response. Being told that his "argument is irrelevant" won't sit nice for him at all. Can't wait to see him tear them up .
