Nate | 4557 comments Maybe I should just move forward and publish 'Summons the Chaos' as an ebook and screw the manuscript that's been left to rot for the last 3 yrs or so.

Opinions?

Do both?
What's a manuscript?

message 1789: by Nate (new)

Nate | 4557 comments nah not yet. I'm not really sure about this ebook publishing thing, like what are the pros and cons, do I still own the rights to it yada yada ...idk if anything I'd prob put Summons the chaos up as trial run I guess....

A manuscript is an author's unpublished work.

You should talk to Zechariah. He knows that stuff.

So wouldn't that be similar to what it is now here?

message 1791: by Nate (last edited Mar 28, 2016 07:12AM) (new)

Nate | 4557 comments who?

yes and no, I think considering that the one is posted online and has been for a while, even though its NOT officially published it's been viewed by several, and the other only has a few small parts posted online, idk to me there's a difference though in the technical sense perhaps not...

I don't consider waddpad a published work though.

Zechariah. He fell off the face of the earth at the moment, but when he comes back I'll have him tell you about it.

message 1793: by Nate (new)

message 1794: by Nate (new)

Yep. Author and publisher here.

It depends where you publish. You need to be able to read contracts and understand what you're agreeing to. Some sites require a perpetual (forever) license. Nevertheless, wherever you publish, the manuscript has to adhere to formatting guidelines and is expected to have been edited professionally or very close to professionally, unless you're giving it away for free. Then the expectations are, understandably, much lower.

Professionally edited. *cracks up laughing* Yeah, not my strong point. Just as I figured, there's a lot of research to be done before I do anything. Just seems like lately a lot of ppl - by ppl I mean unknowns like myself- are jumping on the band wagon so to speak.
Thanks
