I listened to the song. I'm definitely interested in the relationship between the two characters. Post the book.

I'm not sure mine would be that accurate but I couldn't think of anything else.

Interesting to me, since Wheel In the Sky also fits another relationship later in the series well, where the characters are split apart.

Yep, if we'd only sit and think for a bit, plenty more songs would come to mind. :)
Vampire's War On Christmas:
Vampire talking to Gypsy -

Book: The Masks of Monsters

Song: 'Rose' - A Perfect Circle

What Rayne thinks about Rafe: I Think I Love you (the second verse pretty much nails it.)

What Rafe would say to Rayne: Young Girl (just the chorus though)

CHARACTERS: Mark Rube's song about himself and Helen Cooper
SONG: This Wreckage -- Gary Numan

Pretty incredible how apropos all of the lyrics are (spoilered to save space):
(view spoiler)

The Dark Side Of Chemistry.
Skyla to Jensen.
Thinking Of You Katy Perry

Odin and Loki, discussing Loki's new power to play songs out of thin air.
Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin. Because that's actually the song he plays. :)

Characters: Amrin, his brother Eewren, and their individual journey as they try to find each other.
Song: Show Me by Moya Brennan - https://youtu.be/xWNbKnr0O1w
I also have to include this song, which I've come to consider to be Amrin's song, because it pretty much sums him up.
Two Horizons by Moya Brennan - https://youtu.be/Sk2pycJ2WgE

Characters: Jacqui and her former lover Joe (who she's still in love with despite being married to someone else)
Song: Adele's cover of Lovesong - https://youtu.be/0RUZpOsL1JQ
As far as a soundtrack song, this would be perfect for when Jacqui and her husband Tony descend into the Grand Ball: Fashion Killa by A$AP Rocky - https://youtu.be/snY-MhPcPg0
Those are the only ones I've thought of so far.

Don't worry, GG, you're not alone. I only knew Micah's and Quoleena's, but I've at least heard Journey even if I didn't know your song.
I don't think musically, so this is nearly impossible for me, but in Kind of Like Life, Renee puts on a song from the 80s and asks Blake to dance with her. The song is never mentioned by name, but it's If You Leave by OMD
https://youtu.be/EPmTGFg06zA

Anyway, It's fun to see what people listen to. :)

Whereas I do, having spent a couple decades mostly involved in music. But I don't know new music or much pop or conventional blues/rock/country, preferring to stick on the fringes of the underground movements. The most pop I ever got was back in the '80s when electronic music turned mainstream for a while. I even played in a band that did warm up for A Flock of Seagulls once (they had abandoned the dumb hair by then!). Most of what I know and like is A) instrumental (mostly electronic and not necessarily dance music), B) nonsense lyrically, C) really old (1930s swing, '50s/'60s jazz, world music, medieval/renaissance), or D) just plain weird (which might explain why I write SF).
];D
I don't think what I write is that weird, but there's got to be some cross pollination between my musical likes and my writing.
P.S. I talked to the keyboardist in A Flock of Seagulls when I played warm up for them and he had actually played on a Gary Numan live tour. So there's that makes me two degrees of separation from Gary Numan, yeah?

Yeah, you'd know it if you heard it.

Hey Micah, most of my background is in music as well. Lived it growing up, went to school for Music Business, and pursued the industry for a while. My musical taste is so broad, I don't really listen to the mainstream anymore. Like you I like to journey through the underground. However, when I hear a good song I just hear a good song. Stumbled upon the Evanescence song. Music actually inspires me to write.

All this great music!!

Very eclectic and WEIRD! lol

Book: PleshaCore
Characters: Captain Pierre Jacobs, aka Mrs. Magdalene Benson
Song: Destination Unknown -- Missing Persons
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RqHB...
The book is a search for identity story wrapped in thriller clothing. Who is Captain Jacobs, qua Mrs. Benson? It's unknown. Well...life is so strange.

Yeah, you'd know it if you heard it."
You guys do realize that she added a link to the song right? I know it comes as a surprise, but Journey simply isn't a band that has ever been on my radar. :p

In college back in the late '70s I was a DJ at WUVT (Virginia Tech) but my show was from 3 AM to 6 AM on Saturday night (well, Sunday morning) and I played a wide variety of non-commercial music from space music to prog rock to RIO to avant garde and a tiny bit of punk.
I'm pretty sure I had no regular listeners at all. No one ever called with comments or requests ... until one night.
Some guy calls up and says "Hey, this is pretty cool music you're playing! Do you play requests?"
"If it fits the show's format, sure," I said.
"Cool! What's the show's format?"
"Well," I say, thinking the question was a bit odd if he'd been listening. "I play a lot of stuff but mainly songs you can't hear on normal radio stations, songs with a lot of synthesizers in them."
"Oh, OK. How about playing some Journey?"
I was like WHAT?! "Uh, I don't think that fits my format."
"Why not? Journey uses synthesizers!"
Only then did I realize it was a friend of mine--another DJ--pranking me.
...A few weeks later I called his show:
"Hey, cool music! Do you play requests?"
"As long as they fit the show's format."
"Oh. What's the format?"
"I play all kinds of Indie rock." (I honestly can't remember how he answered the question but in today's language that's what he meant)
"How about playing some Journey!"
"That doesn't fit the format..."
At which point I started laughing my head off and he realized what was up.
"SISK, I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"
**sigh** Revenge is sweet.
I miss you, Ken. RIP, man. RIP.

A girl I knew in college spent a night out on the town (Georgetown, MD, aka Washington DC) with John Prine and Leon Redbone after a concert back in '77.
Two degrees of separation (again). ];P
P.S. That's always the song I think of when I think of Prine (didn't know the song title, though). That or Dear Abbey.

That's kind of cool.
I have to admit I never heard of him until I came across a cover of the song, but with a new generation of vets struggling with the effects of war and the statistic that something like 22 a day are committing suicide, it seems to me a song that once again bears relevance.
