This thread is where you can chat about all things PIFM, ask questions and once books have been read, review your selected reads. A complete free for all.

PLEASE NOTE:

PIFM is meant to be FUN and not to be taken seriously. I would appreciate it if all participants just chilled and not get worked up about voting, who votes, who doesn't, etc. Please bear in mind that some will just want to vote, many don't come on everyday and most of us have time constraints. I just want a relaxed approach to it all and for you all to just enjoy the process! I'd really appreciate your courtesy in this matter. Thanks.

Amber Martingale I currently have a tie of 3 votes each for Babylon's Ark: The Incredible Wartime Rescue of the Baghdad Zoo
by Lawrence Anthony, Graham Spence, The Art of War
by Sun Tzu, Thomas Cleary (Translator) and The Sherlock Holmes Book
by DK Publishing.

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 1462 comments @ Perri - I suppose you voted for Sunshine Hunter :-)

@ Melanie
I need another week for your vote. Your have again such great books I really struggled to get down to three :-) Now the final decision will be between: The Face Of Deception / Die Trying & Three to Get Deadly

Amber Martingale Happens to us all.

Closing my list tomorrow. That way I have plenty of time to order. So far, it looks like I'm ordering THE SHERLOCK HOMES BOOK (6 votes, including Darkslyric) by DK Publishing and BABYLON'S ARK (3 votes).

I love Jack Reacher - and Die Trying made it into the finals :-) though if I vote now for it there will be a tie so I'll wait some more days just in case ;-)

BTW: Why didn't you vote for Reacher - you are to blame if he won't win now ;-)

When I've seen your list I thought easy choice - The Girl on the Train - cool I'm not the only one on this planet who didn't read it :-)
But than I thought wait a sec - check the other just in case. So the first eight were horror and I already thought right why did I waste the time no hidden gems and then came: Nobody’s Girl

And now I can't decide. Grrrrrr
Sorry I need some more time ;-)

Since your name is behind The Quiet Game I was convinced you voted for this one. In that case: Sorrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyy
Since Darkslyric voted for Black Echo - my vote would still create a tie :-(

Oh, it's OK, I just feel like people thought I was being unfaithful to Jack Reacher and I have been! I've never looked twice at Penn Cage ;) And I see now that Melanie hasn't recorded Darklyric's vote yet.

No worries Melanie we all know how busy December can be :-)

And I'm still trying to learn mistakes are no disaster so it's good to make them so we can learn to be more patient with other people or ourselves - depending where your weakness is ;-)

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 1462 comments @ Melanie: I'm so sorry - but you have a tie now. Even if I'm a really big Evanovich fan - I still think or hope at least Die Trying is the book you'll enjoy most :-)

@ Darkslyric: I voted for your book too - Nobody's Girls - even if I think The Girl on the Train will take the lead :-)

As for my books looks like it will be The Lake House Secret and I'm really looking forward to check this one out :-)

Darkslyric | 117 comments Agnieszka wrote: When I've seen your list I thought easy choice - The Girl on the Train - cool I'm not the only one on this planet who didn't read it :-)

Lol - so many books and so little time. I see many books that everyone raves about and I add them to my list if it looks like something I might be interested in. The last book I read that everyone raved about was not so great in my opinion, nor my book pals opinion. Sorry to have to say that.

I am also really bad if the book is bad I will read it to the end no matter what, in hope it might just get better. I just can not quit a book once I have read the first page. It may sit on my nightstand all year but I will eventually get through it. As a writer myself I know the hard work that goes into every word in the book and I feel as the reader I have to give it a fighting chance.

With that all being said I officially close my PIFM book list for January 2016 with a landslide vote for: The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

message 50: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 2434 comments I hadn't checked my results in a while. You know, the busy holiday season and all. Plus I had a tooth extracted a few days ago and the pain hasn't eased up at all. Anyway, I have a new leader thanks to Daisy and Dana!!
