MixItUp! | 6177 comments Gemstone picked up a redish, pinkish fruit. "Is this a strawberry?" she asked, though it turned a golden when she touched the fruit. "I've never tried any fruit, but I can tell that roasted bunnies are better"

MixItUp! | 6177 comments "Which do you like better? Cows or peaches?" Gemstone asked, eyeing the peach carefully. She seemed a bit suspicious about it, but it was only a piece of fruit

message 853: by MixItUp! (new)

MixItUp! | 6177 comments Gemstone shrugged, giving him a playful smile. "I don't know! Just choose which one you'd rather have the rest of your life" she thought about how meat gave a dragon protein, and fruit gave them their vitamins

Gemstone giggled, "Cow? Oooo! I think you like peaches more!" she acted as if she was talking about his crushes. She couldn't stop laughing

Partly following the smell of new and old scrolls, and the directions on his scroll, he'd long since lost his sister-which made him wary. Epiphany's mind was crowded with thoughts, other dragons' thoughts, it.... It bothered him. He could practically feel their emotions, definitely hear their thoughts, and occasionally catch tidbits of imagination and memories. It was cool, but it made E.P. uncomfortable-it wasn't like he was trying to look into their thoughts, but it felt rude even so. At least int he library the only thoughts dragons had were about their scrolls-which was also bad if he was given a spoiler on a scroll...

Mapledream {Rose Gold} | 716 comments Fox was sitting at a desk in a library with a scroll lied out in front of him. He wasn’t really reading it because his mind was elsewhere. He couldn’t stop thinking about Lily and hoped he would meet her here again. When a dragon walked through the door her looked up excitedly. However, it wasn’t Lily so he slumped back into his seat.

message 857: by [deleted user] (new)

Seeing a female dragon shoved into his mind, Epiphany hesitated, trying to locate where it was coming from. From what Pip could tell, the only dragons here were the librarian and a very large dragon... A crossbreed? Looking over at Fox, the dark scaled dragonet shifted back. The rainbow scales that sprinkled over the underside of his wings and the line of scales down his neck seemed to sparkle even brighter as excitement reached his eyes, "Hey, what kinda crossbreed are you?" Epiphany asked after hurrying over to the older dragon, though-as he stepped closer-his steps slowed to a tiny inch every step. Where's Omniscient again...? His sister usually opened up conversations with an easy comments-himself? He opened up with a question, always a question.

Mapledream {Rose Gold} | 716 comments Fox’s eyes widened in surprise. He stared at the dragonet in front of him, taking them in. “I’m not a crossbreed.” He said, his ear twitching. In his mind he was frantically wondering how this random dragonet possibly knew. He looked all MudWing except for his red eyes and wing webbing. They shouldn’t have been able to tell. “Who are you anyways?” He asked, sniffing the stranger a bit. Fox immediately disliked this nosey little dragon, but that wasn’t a final judgement.

message 859: by [deleted user] (new)

"Are you sure?" Epiphany spoke calmly, he knew the truth-but inside he was quivering and wiggling. His sister would know just how to talk, just how to wring it out of Fox-or simply threaten him until he spoke. But Epiphany was shyer, quicker to hide, but also quicker to fight back if he was pushed far enough-which was rare to never. "E-Epiphany," the name was NightWing enough, but the shimmer of RainWing scales lining the inside and bottom of his wings and the straight line of rainbow scales down the sides of his neck proved his mixed blood. At least he wasn't nearly as obvious as Omniscient, though....

"Y-You're Fox, right?" Desperate to cover up the awkward silence, it hit him about five minutes later that-hey-if he were a normal dragon, he wouldn't know that! Ducking his head in embarrassment, Epiphany's scales just by his eyes sparked like diamonds, diamonds he wished he didn't have-so he could at least pretend to be like everyone else...

Mapledream {Rose Gold} | 716 comments “How does one not know they’re a crossbreed?” Fox asked defensively. He looked Pip up and down and noticed her rainbow scales. “Besides you seem to be one yourself with those RainWing scales. You can’t hide being a crossbreed.” He knew that was a lie, however, because he seemed to be getting away with it fairly well until this dragon came along. “Yeah... I’m Fox. How do... how do you know that?” Fox asked, a bit of fear showing in his voice. This dragon was freaking him out.

Mapledream {Rose Gold} | 716 comments ((Sorry I feel bad my posts aren’t as long as yours because I try to always match my posts to their length or make them longer. ))

"I-" at a loss for words, the younger dragon shuffled backwards a few more inches. "I, I wasn't tr-trying to hide!" He yelped, E.P. cringed at his stuttering words. Finally taking a breath and looking up, Epiphany wondered if it was worth risking a possible acquaintance. But... How would he react? Ah, yes, Epiphany was always eager-and disappointed-to see how dragons reacted to his mindreading. Would they not trust him? Would they hate him? Or would they treat him the same...?

Responding to his worried tone, Epiphany tapped the sides of his eyes near the corner. There sparkled tiny scales of bright silver-almost like diamond implants.

Dusk flew into the window, having been too nervous to go in through the main entrance. It was her first day, so she wanted to get used to her surroundings before talking to anyone. She tumbled into the library, almost knocking over a rack of scrolls. "Sorry!" she said to no one in particular. She tiptoed over to an interesting rack of scrolls, labeled "Darkstalker."

message 865: by [deleted user] (new)

((It's alright if she wants to join our rp, but if she doesn't than Moon does have a point))

Mapledream {Rose Gold} | 716 comments Fox thought for a moment while squinting at EP’s mind reader markings. “Ooohh.” He said like everyone does in that moment of realization. “You’re a mind reading dragonet.” He then thought for a moment, well then I guess I can’t trick her into thinking Im full MudWing. Oh my goodness she’s probably reading my thoughts right now. It would be easier just to tell her, but can I really trust this.... Epiphany or whatever it was? Well I suppose I don’t have a choice since she can read my thoughts anyways. “Well...” he said after a pause, “Yeah Im a hybrid, but you cant tell ANYONE.”

message 867: by [deleted user] (new)

((Epiphany is male, he has a twin sister named Omniscient))

message 868: by [deleted user] (new)

"Mhm," Epiphany confirmed, dipping his head once before adding, "My twin sister, Omniscient, has future vision!" It was how the two talked to one another-in a way. His sister would think something, he'd listen to it, and respond in subtle movements or tiny signals.

"Well then, I guess I can't trick him into thinking I'm full MudWing. Oh, my goodness, he's probably reading my thoughts right now," that last thought made a tiny smile arrange itself on his face. Doing his best to ignore the rest of the long thought, Pip could still hear it as background noise-a low and irritating hum that was just there, like a bee. Looking up at Fox, Epiphany shrugged, "I can read your thoughts, but I tend to avoid doing that-it's rude for dragons who want privacy. I won't tell anyone!"

Mapledream {Rose Gold} | 716 comments ((Oh sorry!))

message 870: by [deleted user] (new)

((it's fine!!))

Mapledream {Rose Gold} | 716 comments Fox gave him a grateful smile. For a dragon with a good number of secrets, he appreciated the fact that Pip would stay out of his head for the most part. “Thanks.” He said quietly. He was beginning to like this dragon. “So, um, when’d you get to Jade Mountain?” He asked, relaxing a but more. He could be friends with this dragon. He wanted to be friends with this dragon.

message 872: by [deleted user] (new)

"Of course!" Pip squeaked, this isn't so bad... He'd been scared out of his wits at first, but seeing as Fox wasn't being unfriendly, the hybrid took this as a good sign. "J-just now, actually!" Epiphany said with a tiny smile, tail curling pleasantly, "M-My sister and I both attend here! We're in dif-different Winglets, though..."

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments Duskwatcher walked into the library, hopeful that this school would have a good library. Thank goodness she was right. She raced in and went to the nearest stack of scrolls and started looking through them.

message 889: by Rynzii (last edited Jun 12, 2018 02:45PM) (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments Dusk jumped and turned to the small dragon next to her. "Oh!" she said. "Uh, hi! Sorry, you surprised me." She paused, trying not to look into this dragonet's mind to see who she is. Just ask her questions. That's what Queen Thorn always says. She took in a deep breath and spoke to the dragonet. "I'm Dusk. What's your name?"

message 890: by Rynzii (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments Dusk smiled at Chestnut. She couldn't help taking a peek. Dusk was more than happy to start the conversation for her. "I'm here because I just got here today, but I never wanted to come here, and I love reading, so I thought this would change my mind about this place." Dusk paused. "I'm also a Nightwing/Sandwing mix," she said, lifting her sunset-colored wings and flicking her poison barb tail.

message 891: by Rynzii (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments Dusk chuckled. "Yes, I do. You seem like a cool dragon." Dusk paused, nervous how this dragonet would react to this. "One more thing though..." Dusk stopped, hoping Chestnut would still like her. "I... I can also read minds. I just think you should know that."

message 892: by Rynzii (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments Dusk was glad Chestnut had changed the topic. She didn't like that topic. "No, but I do love the moon. It reminds me of my family. And my close friend, Scorpion." Dusk frowned a little. "He couldn't come here because he can't fly. His wings were broken when he was little." Dusk paused. She didn't like talking about him either. Or her entire life. "I've read stories about the moon. It just makes me feel... powerful? No, more like complete."

message 893: by Rynzii (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments Dusk gave her a sorry look and put a wing over her. "Yes, I do. They would always hang out with me, do stuff like practice hunting with tiny animals." She smiled at Chestnut. "What did you do with your family?"

message 894: by Rynzii (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments Dusk thought that was interesting. "So, you're a princess? You get to meet other tribes?" Dusk asked. "That's pretty cool. What are they like?" Dusk laughed. "Am I the best dragon you've ever met?" she joked.

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments ((I'm back!))

Dusk looked down at Chestnut. "I kinda know how you feel. I'm not training to be a queen, of course, but my dad works for Queen Thorn, and he wants me to do his job when I grow up. I mean, I want the job, but I don't know if I have what it takes. You may have met my dad before. His name is Char, a SandWing."

message 897: by Rynzii (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments Dusk paused. "Sort of. He has decided to stop meeting with other tribes. Even since..." She took in a deep breath. "Well, ever since he left the Scorpion Den. He went to live in the castle permanently, but my mother, Star, and I weren't allowed. He stopped being diplomatic and started working on war tactics. He never really comes outside his room. Some dragons think he went crazy, but I know my dad. At least, I think I do." Dusk felt a tear forming in her eye, but she quickly wiped it away. "What about your dad? You haven't said anything about him."

message 898: by Rynzii (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments "My mom," she said with a sigh. "She taught me how to control my powers. She didn't have them herself, but she was very understanding." Dusk touched her teardrop scales and thought of the moonstone bracelet her mother had always worn. "When she decided I was going to leave for Jade Mountain, she gave me this moonstone bracelet. My father gave it to her a while ago." She smiled. "My mother is the best dragon on the continent." Dusk looked at Chestnut. "Which winglet are you in?"

message 899: by Rynzii (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments Dusk felt a jolt of excitement. "I'm in the Bronze Winglet, too!" she exclaimed. "That's awesome! We're in the same winglet!" She moved away from Chestnut so she could look her in the eyes. "I'm so glad we get to be in the same classes!" Dusk smiled. "I bet you aren't the only royal here. Besides, you've got me, if you don't find any others."

message 900: by Rynzii (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 123 comments Dusk smiled at the young princess. "I'd love to. I'm so glad to have already found a friend!" Dusk wrapped her wings around Chestnut and pulled back. "Not many people like me back home, being a mindreader. I don't mind, though. It's just nice to have someone who accepts that." She grinned at Chestnut.
