Echo shrugged, "When your a cursed dragon, there isn't a lot of choices" she pointed out, rather disappointed. "Maybe a medicine..." She trailed off, maybe her voice would be able to help people

Nightstriker thought for a moment. "What about becoming a scholar?" He suggested. "You could use your knowledge of the curse to help people live a normal life." He added. He looked back down and thought of something. "I'm guess you already have a mate or atleast a crush." He said without thinking. He suddenly realized what he said and stood up. "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to say that it just came out." He said getting flustered.
Echo glared at him when he brought up the crush/mate thing but realized he hadn't meant to say that. Her gaze softened, "It's alright" she gave him a small smile. "Sometimes things do slip"
Nightstriker sat back down feeling horrible. "I always do that. Sorry again. I didn't mean to touch that topic." He said hanging his head low.
"It's really fine" Echo replied, her talon touching his shoulder to show she forgave him. "It isn't the first time I've been asked that" she smiled
Echo nodded again, "It happens to the best of us" she glanced side-ways. "Sometimes even I blurt out some things" she wanted to say something about his wings-not-being-there but decided that'd be rather inappropriate
Nightstriker noticed her looking at his back."Yeah my parents were mad when I didn't get wings. They decided training would make up for it." He said.
"I'm super sorry, I can't imagine life like that.." Echo felt bad for bringing the topic up, but was rather impressed by his ability to 'read' people
Nightstriker nodded. "I might of started doing this research to spite them but I found a love for it. I joke saying knowledge is my mate." He said with a smile.
"Do you ever get bored of learning?" Echo asked randomly. "Usually, learning is great. Until everything out there... You know... You know about."
Nightstriker nodded. "I really hate it when that happens." He said. He looked at the ceiling. "It's why I write. To always have something to read." He said. He looked at Echo. "So why did you join a winglet?" He asked calmly. He knew everyone had a reason.
((It's up to PB. Speaking of which is Destiny still your dragon and if so is she still in the winglet? I may or may not of started reading other RPs to pass the time.))

"Well, Jade Mountain is my only escape. A dragonet can't be randomly roaming the wild! I'm only like... 6" Echo laughed a bit. "Are you sure knowledge is what brought you here?" She asked
Nightstriker nodded. "I'm almost drawn to it." He said. He looked at the roof. "Have you ever felt drawn to something?" He asked.
((I feel like if they started travelling Nightstriker would be like her mentor. Just a random idea that came into my mind.))
Nightstriker shook his head. "You're studying when no one else is. I can almost guarantee there isn't gonna be a test this week but here you are. You love learning." He said with a smile. He reached into his back and pulled out a very old and beaten scroll. "This scroll is extremely valuable. It contains a map of more than a few underground caves and caverns." He said. "Some have treasure others have traps. I want to give you a small quiz okay?" He said with a friendly smile.
"Hmmm, a quiz on survival?" Echo asked, noticing how he said 'traps'. "Why are you giving this to me?" She asked, not buying the whole, 'you like learning thing so you're awesome' thing
Nightstriker smiled. "I want you to study a map for five minutes and tell me all the traps you can find. These are maps of caves long ago cleared out. It's like a fun game of where's the trap." He said smile. "Also I'm not giving it to you I'm letting you borrow it. I still use it if I'm going into a cave." He said honestly.
Nightstriker nodded and handed Echo the scroll. "Good luck." He said before walking to another table and reading a random scroll.
Echo nodded, "Good, because I'm into the whole, 'murderous' traps idea" she giggled. She opened the scroll, her eyes scanning the page. There were quite a lot of traps
Echo was too busy studying. What would happen if she failed the test? That wouldn't happen anyway, she had to think positive
Nightstriker got up and walked over to Echo. "Times up." He said. He sat down. "Care to show me all the traps you found." he asked with a smile.
Nightstriker smiled. "Glad to see you're ready." He said. He rolled up the scroll and put it back. He pulled out a blank scroll. "Now draw me the map." He said.
"best thing to do is if you get stuck show ways of getting out"

After labeling, she made a key to show what marked the traps. "Wait" she paused, "Aren't caves always changing with erosion and weathering?" she asked
Firestar/Leon/Akuma i can't hold the demon inside me much longer wrote: ""best thing to do is if you get stuck show ways of getting out""Echo quickly noted that quote. It was good advice. She made a tiny note in her mind about it
Nightstriker smiled. "Good catch. You were never supposed to get it correct because these maps are too old. The test was if you could realize the information wasn't up to date." He said smiling.
"Hmm," Echo examined the 'map' scroll, which had a few tears. It's paper felt strange. "This has to be a map at least 200 years old" she noted, glancing at her scroll that she had written on. She crossed out the opening of a cave. "It's had to of collapsed by now. I must say, I did do a great copy of it though" she smiled
