The Associate
question
What makes a book good?

After seeing this question on another post here on Goodreads, and then reading Grisham's 'The Associate', it makes me wonder. Granted, many of the 'poor' reviews of this work are on target, from a quality perspective; as are many of the 'excellent' reviews from an enjoyment perspective.
I've just finished the book, and it did keep me entertained. It's not a great book, but it is good.
Purists in the literary industry can criticize every book that has ever been written, but readers can enjoy a good story regardless of the shortcomings, as long as the book gives them reading pleasure. This book did that for me.

A book is good if it sucks you in, helps you escape reality while reading it.
