This book is about a man named Donald Driver. Donald's life was hard as a kid,and he didn't have a reliable father figure to help him become a man. The result of being fatherless made Donald's mom work extra hard to provide for him and his siblings. Although Donald's mother loved him very much and wanted the best for him she couldn't prevent him from getting involved in drug dealing as a teenager. Donald's drug dealing allowed him to get extra money to help provide for his family. Even though Donald was a drug dealer he was never caught by the police, which enabled him to go to college to play football and then later be drafted by the Green Bay Packers. From there Donald’s life was changed forever, and he would never be homeless again.
Personal Reaction
I enjoyed reading this book because it's a real life example that you can be anything that you want too. The reason I say this is because Donald Driver was raised without a home for much of his life, and he was involved in thefts and drug dealing as a kid but he eventually turned his whole life around and became an NFL superstar. Not only did he play in the NFL but he also went on Dancing with the Stars and won it all. I also enjoy watching and learning about sports so I was very interested when Donald talked about the things that go on in a NFL team. All in all I enjoyed reading this book.
