Curious, a little bit of an oddball. Thinks differently from other people, which sometimes makes her smart, and other times leaves her confused when others understand. Very literal. Tends to space out sometimes. Always wondering about the universe

History: her parents were killed when she was 1 but she escaped, and now she lives with the NightWings. The NightWings take care of her, and she hasn't ever heard of JMA yet, even though she is old enough.

Personality:often comes across as sharp and prickly, he is in fact a very nice dragon who simply lacks social skills. although he had made progress, with the help of his students, he still doesn't know a lot about social interaction and this often annoys him, causing him to be prickly. very loyal to those who look past his looks, he'll kill and die for those he cares for.

Appearance:has a SandWing head, albeit with slightly longer snout. he has massive SkyWing wings, a large SandWing stinger, and his built big and powerfully. solid black with black SandWing eyes. his wings also have bright sparks on the inside, which change color depending on his mood.

History:the unwanted hatchling of two cross-breed, he was abandoned in the desert to die. but his SandWing blood helped him to survive and he eventually thrived. when he returned, hoping to have a happy family, his parents tried to kill him and he was forced to flee. he lived by himself for some time, until he discovered a SandWing/SeaWing crossbreed, injured on a beach. he finally thought he found someone who could understand his problems, only for her to try and kill him, calling him a freak of nature. he was forced to kill her, and her angry family, and finally decided he'd had enough of everyone trying to kill him.
after that he killed any dragon that came within his territory, eventually the place became rumored to have a powerful monster, guarding various things, and many more rumors.
he was five hundred years old when the hatchlings finally arrived and changed the world but he didn't care, simply wished to be left alone. he eventually found a dying RainWing on the edge of his territory and decided to help the poor girl. when she was well he expected her to attack him, or at least run, instead she asked him lots of questions and complimented his looks. when she left he went with her for protection and joined her at Jade Mountain as her teacher.

Powers: SandWing and RainWing venom, in respective places, as well as powerful flames. they are less powerful than pure-bloods but he makes this up by combining them into deadly combos.

Ultimate Weakness:perhaps its a defect, or simply the result of so much cross-breeding, but he has a small spot, about 2ft wide, right over where his heart is that is especially thin and weak. a simply thrust with a small enough object and he could bleed to death.

Personality: He's conserved and quit. Does not talk vary much if at all. Loves to make things like neckleses and brackets is skilled with his talons in making trekents. When he does speak it's quit and timid. He's skilled at cutting gem stones to defrant shapes and has a keen eye for finding gems and other unordinary martials for crafting.

Appearance he has mahogany scales on his back and deep brown scales on his underbelly.
With piercing orange eyes. He is also one of the smallest mudwings for his age.

History: grow up alone in the swamp and never even meat his bothers or sisters. During the day of his haching there was a tearable storm that caused his egg to be lost from the others, he was the last to hatch and has been on his own from the beginning, the other mudwings ignored him and let him do his own thing causing him to be very anti social, he wonders what it would be like every day to have sibs like everyone else but he knows that day will never come he was born alone in mudwings society witch means the best he could get were un-sibs, knowing that he never tried to join another family for he doesn't want to interfere with that line of bonding. He wants his true family. This left him to finding a pet scavenger that he makes trinkets for trying to fill that void of being alone.

Cyclone has dark indigo scales, which make him better at blending into water at night, or when its particularly deep or shadowy. His eyes are also very dark. They usually look black, the blue tones only visible in bright light. The webbing along his spine and his wing membrane is also a very dark blue, with turqoise undertones if the light hits it. His glowscales are a pale silvery color when glowing, and a dull, gray blue shade when not.

Was raised by his father as a renegade outlaw in the Claws of Peace. One of the very few dragonets in the group, he spent most of his time with his father, learning the skills of a guerilla fighter. Being away from SeaWing civilization his whole life, he never learned how to read, which he tries to keep hidden from other dragons. Having just turned seven, the official age for a Claw of power, he is eager to prove himself as a worthy fighter.

Powers
Manta has bioluminescent stripes around her eyes in a pattern that blooms outward similar to flower petals. This pattern mimics the teardrop that all NightWings with powers have. She also has small circles that she can light up at will trailing down her neck. From her eye, she can flash a bright light, similar to a laser beam or a flashlight. She exudes a cold aura when she is angry, or loses control of her emotions. She has the whip-thin tail of an IceWing and ridged claws that she uses to her advantage in battle. On her RainWing side, she can turn colors, but only shades of blue. This takes a lot of energy to maintain, so she doesn't use it a lot. Her claws and teeth are infested with frostbreath, so if she bites/claws into anyone, their blood and scales begin to freeze. Manta can summon icicles, but she does get extremely cold when she does this, and needs to fly around a lot in order to counteract the cold, or have someone breathe fire on her. If she can't do either of those things, she turns into an ice statue.

Even for me, the writer, and definitely for Manta.(view spoiler)[You want to know? You REALLY want to know? I'm warning you one last time. If you continue, you might be scarred for life.
(view spoiler)[I was curled up beside my mother, her color-changing scales draped in black and her wing tucking me in protectively. I knew it was all for my own good, so I let her hug me. I could see the moon, shining full and bright like a luminous eye through a gap where my mother's wing didn't cover. Her chest moved slowly, up and down, and by nestling up against her, I could feel the slow steady beat of her heart. I felt up and ready to run, as if someone was watching us, but since my mother was at ease, I slowly started to relax.

My eyes opened, my ears raised and perked. Something wasn't right, my mind was telling me. But my mother slept on.

"Mama?" I gently shook her, wriggling out from the comfort of her wing. She murmured in her sleep a name. Freezedry. Is that you? she whispered, then she was pulled back under into the carpet of sleep. I gave up, and walked towards the entrance. My spots on my neck and near my eyes lit up automatically as I made my way around boulders that had kept us safe for so long. But not tonight.

A talon as colorless as snow wrapped around my snout and pulled me forward into the open air. I clawed at it frantically, my screams and breaths muffled and restricted. A ghostly head, white in the moonlight, smiled down at me, showing unnaturally sharp teeth. He kept one talon on my snout as he traced my bioluminescent circles down my neck. I shivered at the touch, and I could hear his laugh, lighter than I expected it to be. He pinched my throat, and once again I could breathe. I opened my snout to shout desperately, but he held one talon to his teeth. "Shhh." he said, his voice low. "If you make one sound, I'll break your neck." My eyes widened, and he laughed, louder that time, and darker. I could feel something behind me, and I realized it was him, running his talons down my spine and pulling me closer. I started to struggle, smacking him with my tail and lashing out with my claws, but he caught my flailing limbs and pinned me down, his breath hot on my neck. I was immobilized and unable to call for help.

"That's a beautiful face you got there." He said, smiling cruelly. I felt tears fill my left eye, and he showed his sharp teeth again. "It must cause you so much trouble. Why don't I help you?"

He leaned in closer, and his eyes started to glow. Suddenly, I lost feeling in my body, a chilling cold creeping through me. My talons moved of their own accord, and suddenly, I could feel him laughing. He was that close to me. "Feels good, doesn't it?" he teased, and my talons were coming towards my snout. I couldn't move away, I had lost control over my own body. But I tried. Tried to scream. Tried to move. Tried to claw out his life. But nothing happened, and I could only watch as my own claws, serrated and sharpened to perfection, descended.

I couldn't feel anything at first. Only the cold air whistling through my skull. Then the pain hit. Scorching pain, daggers stabbing into my nerve endings, and oh, my eye, my eye. My own talons were stabbed straight into it, and somehow managed to gouge it out all by themselves. The nerve endings dangled out from the back, frayed and broken. I screamed, my voice restored, as the snowy colored dragon laughed and laughed. His eyes turned to me, his expression savage and shadowy. I still couldn't feel my limbs, and as he slunk closer, I could feel my empty socket pool with blood instead of tears. It dripped over my scales and washed the ground with a bright glowing red. The pain never stopped, it washed over me just like the ground had been washed over. I went limp, and he caught me with glee. "Much better." he whispered, and I could feel him licking away the blood in my eye socket, his tongue rubbing the bone. I tried to cry, but couldn't. I couldn't do anything. I was weak.

Something dark came shooting out of the cave and tackled the snowy colored dragon. Red dripped in between them as my mother clawed at the snowy dragon with all her might. She sprayed venom on him, but he just laughed. He threw her off with indragon (get it? indragon? inhuman? never mind) strength and lunged at her. Now she was the one who was getting her life ripped out of her, and then, I felt something tingling in my veins. I stood up, even though I tried to hold back. I tried to sit down, but I couldn't. He made me walk over, him holding my mother in place. She looked up at me, and understanding dawned in her eyes.

"It's not you." she said quietly, as if that was supposed to make me feel better. She stared straight into my face, never flinching at the blood still pouring out of the empty hole in my face. "I know you're in there, Rayray." the sound of my nickname started to fill my eye with tears. "I'll always love you. Remember that. I forgive you."

The snowy colored dragon laughed. "So touching." he said, his voice filled with ecstasy. I couldn't stop what happened next, and it was too quick for me to stop myself. My talons plunged straight into her chest, and ripped out the heart that I was listening to, earlier on that night. It pulsed in my talons, then was still. The light died in her eyes, but I could still see her love for me in them when she died.

Died.

Died.

DIED.

I screamed, and something made my wings open, flaring out to their full length. I snarled, a low, deep sound, and for the first time, he looked afraid. "I will NEVER forgive you." I said, in a voice not even mine. Then, I stared into his snout, and ripped out his heart in the exact same way he made me do to my mother.

I relished his blood, mourned hers. I hated his blood, I loved hers. I killed his blood, and got revenge for hers.

And then, standing there, covered in red under the white of the moon, I cried the words I couldn't say to her when she died.

"I love you."

General
❖ Manta is hurting, deep inside her soul. She mourns her mother ever single day, and as a result, has developed a passion to kill everyone, because she blames the world for making her who she is today. For letting her mother die. For letting her be weak, and unable to fight back when she was young. She has a sort of twisted guiding moral compass.

Death is unredeemable. Death as revenge...well, that's a different story. And I'm out for revenge. Get ready, world. Manta's comin to kill you.

❖ Manta used to be a sweet young dragonet. Innocent. Pure. Weak. Used to being the key words. Now her soul's dark. Vengeful. Unmerciful. Cold. Impenetrable. And she likes it that way. Because she's strong.

❖ Being with Dew...it makes her stronger. Surer. More confident. They share the same bloodthirsty longing for death, although Manta's is more based on punishing the world for her mother's death. Instead of internalizing her damage, repairing her soul, she let it out, a dark force against the light of the world. And she loves it.

❖ Manta is a very stubborn dragon, but goes along with anything Dew says. Most of the time. She is the strategic side of the pair. She's the one that thinks of all of the creative ways she could kill someone in her free time. Designing traps is her specialty. Clean murder is her hobby. Traveling alongside Dew and killing dragons together is her favorite pastime.

❖ Manta HATES being treated like someone or something she isn't. Especially when other dragons, especially adults, think that she is younger than she really is. She hates the way the world views her, and she hates the way she seems so small and vulnerable. Her size is constantly a boundary to what she can do, but she intends to break that. Along with her past regrets, it serves as a barrier.

Personality: Shard is extremely passive aggressive. One moment she can be the sweetest dragon you'll ever know and the other she'll be biting your throat off. She isn't very smart and has a hard time thinking things through. She isn't very observant and her mind is very much black and white. Good or bad.

Appearance:


History: Shard's father was pressured too much to be an amazing prince and use his animus power to make an amazing gift for his kingdom, but he couldn't live up to it so he ran away from the kingdom, living a bit outside of the border. Hibiscus was a very adventurous Rainwing, wanting to travel the continent, so she did just that. One day she was exploring near Icewing territory she found Prince Tundra. They fell in love and shortly had Shard. Shard lived with her parents, traveling all over. Her father taught her how to use her animus ability, not believing about the legends of loosing your soul. It made Shard more irritable by the day and she became passive aggressive. The family had growing contentions as Prince Tundra became more crazy, Shard became more selfish and moody, and Hibiscus became anxious and worried. One day, however, Prince Tundra was killed when he ventured too far into the Skywing kingdom looking for food. Shard and her mother waited for him for days, but he never came back. Hibiscus was overcome with grief and went back to the Rainwing kingdom, but Shard didn't want to come. She stayed behind, living completely on her own and she liked it that way.

Abilities: Shard is able to change her scale colors but only within the range of camouflage, light greens, blues, purples, and pinks. She has venom like the Rainwings, but her venom can freeze what it touches or act as normal Rainwing venom.

Other: She is animus because of her father. She's half crazy and half good. There's an earring she always wears that protects her from any threat. It's a black pearl. She has other animus jewelry that she keeps in a chest, but doesn't always wear. (hide spoiler)]

Wing / Frill Color
He has the bioluminescent stripes and patterns of a SeaWing, and since he has royal blood, he bears the intricate swirls and patterns that mark him as a prince on his wings. The frills in between his back spines are a red-orange-gold gradient, the root being red and fading outwards to gold. The spines themselves are a deep maroon, almost black. He has bioluminescent stripes on his frills too, and he has a frill near his ears and back behind his head, almost like a RainWing. What caused this mutation? No one knows. Archi often likes to flare it up when showing off, or when he's mad or upset.

Scale Color
Archi's scales, as a result of his hybrid nature, are a mix of shades. His scales are sleek, and are a beautiful gradient, like his frills, except each one is a sort of dark blue to teal-ish to white (see below). His scales also have a sort of shimmer to them, like sunlight on water, and has scalloped gold edging.

General
❖ Archipelago has this sort of calming aura around him. He has an innate ability to calm even the most tempestuous of dragons, and is revered as a peacemaker. He is calm and doesn't rise to taunts. Archi has trained himself to ignore insults and harden his heart, creating an untouchable barrier around his mind and soul. His voice is like silver and has a beautiful singing quality to it, as if you could drift off into dreamland by just listening to him talk. He can put you in a trance, and he uses this to his advantage when in danger.

It's impossible to survive in my world unless you know how to disappear quickly and quietly

❖ Archi usually relies on his ability to talk his way out of any situation. He is logical and strategic, and diverts questions and conversations with the practice and skill of someone who has had to survive by using this tactic. Some who have met him have sworn that he could tell a squirrel to run straight into his claws, and it would do it. He is that persuasive. He can bend minds to his will, manipulate senses, and even convince others to forget he was even there.

❖ Archi is pretty closed off towards others. He doesn't have a lot of social experience, and the dragons that he does meet are usually very hostile towards a hybrid. This is why he developed the survival skills he has now. He is fast and light, gone before you even knew he was there. He can pry information from even the most stubborn dragons, and others swear he is a ghost. Archi is impossible to bribe, as he believes he has nothing that others need or want from him or he from them. He keeps secrets locked away, and has never, ever told another soul about his past.

❖ If you do get to meet him, though, he has this irresistible charm that causes others to immediately take a liking to him. He is kind and caring, generous and sympathetic. He is fair and has a inner sense of justice and balance. Learning to communicate with him is hard, because he is very hard to connect with. He can become distant, but for those he loves, he is always looking out for them. Archi is a great dragon once you get to know him, but often, he doesn't stick around for that to happen. He instinctively is on the lookout, and sleeps lightly. He can become paranoid, but his senses are fine-tuned and you can trust him on watch, even in the darkest of nights and situations.

FAMILY : Delta's mother was a RainWing SeaWing hybrid, and her father was a SkyWing.

HISTORY : Delta's Mother was injured in a clash of the tribes after the war. Delta's father came upon her, bleeding and gasping for air. Not being a super bloodthirsty or warlike creature, Delta's father took pity on her and nursed her back to health. During the time they were together, they began to fall in love, knowing that they would eventually have to pay. In order to protect her, Delta's mother changed her scales to SkyWing's and they now live in the SkyWing kingdom, although they know their ruse won't last for long...

Delta grew up not even knowing a hint of her origins. She assumes that she is a full SkyWing.

APPEARANCE : Delta has the scales and venom of a RainWing, the gigantic wings of a SkyWing, and can see in the dark and has luminous stripes of the SeaWing.

PERSONALITY : Delta is shy and reserved. Her feelings are easily hurt and she has a short tempter sometimes. She is lonely inside, and others think she is a freak and avoid her. Delta always tries to appear happy and be happy. She has many secrets, and some she wish never came to light...

First person
I woke up to a deep booming sound. My father was already awake, his wings outstretched and filling the small space. "Father?" I whispered, and he looked down at me. I immediately looked down too. "Quiet." he said, his rough voice toned down. "Do you hear that?"

I nodded. It wasn't hard to make out. It was all around us.

"That's the thunderstorm we've been waiting for." he looked down at me. I cringed as another boom exploded in my ear. "It's loud." I shouted. He opened his mouth in a laugh that was drowned out by the force of nature around us.

Suddenly, a soft thump could be heard behind us. "What's that?" I asked nervously, turning, but all I could see was black, black, black. A bright flash of white lit up the sky, illuminating my shimmering scales, and also something else behind us.

"Solara?" I asked incredulously. A huddled shape sat at the back of our cave, unbeknownst to us. A sob came out of the shape, and it uncurled. The IceWing we had communicated with was weeping. "Solara, what's wrong?" I rushed over to her, and she flinched away. A bright crackling sound burst as she moved, and her wings glittered as I realized her wings were solid ice.

"What happened?" I asked gently, leaning down. Father was standing behind me, his eyes narrowed as I comforted Solara. "Why are you here?"

"I..." she choked out, then closed her eyes. Her heartbeat fluttered and I momentarily panicked. "I'm sorry."

Something hard slammed into the back of my head, and I disappeared into a void.

A few hours later...

I woke with a start.

I was in a place I thought I'd never see again.

When my father and I had run away, we vowed never to come here. To only return in death, when our souls, as SeaWings, returned to the place we were born.

Of course, I was half SkyWing, but that's a minor detail.

"Batray!" A commanding voice echoed across the room. I raised my head, and someone whipped me across the snout. "Keep still." a voice hissed, and whipped me again, but softer that time. I stilled my head, but I could see a SeaWing, bedecked in jewels, looking down her nose at him. My father.

Father was chained up, his powerful tail restrained, his wings bound. He raised his head, and his expression was furious. "Clam." he said, his voice low and deep. "What have you done?"

She paced the floor, her gills pulsing. "I'm here to bring you back." she said, at last stopping. "You've been away too long."

"I thought I made it clear that I was never going to come back." he said resolutely. I frowned slightly. Was he going to mention me?

"After you ran off with that ridiculous SkyWing, I made it my duty to save you. She obviously put you under some kind of spell." Clam said, her eyes flickering. Father managed not to roll his eyes, but I could feel contempt flowing off of him. "Clam, you have to stop obsessing over me."

She whirled, and snarled in his face. "I'm trying to help you! You knew I loved you, and you left me, even though we both know you loved me too!" her voice rose higher and higher in pitch. "For some insignificant SkyWing! When you left, I was heartbroken. I cried for days, and when you ran, the queen came to me. She told me that I'd have a chance to win you back."

Father's eyes softened. "I made my choice, Clam." he said, a little sadly. She bared her teeth, and flashed her scales. I could recognize that command. Bring him here.

Someone grabbed something that was attached to my neck. A fleshy seaweed chain that towed me across the room to Clam's talons. She sliced it off, and grabbed my throat, crushing my windpipe. Father's eyes widened slightly. "Clam, you don't want to do this." he said, but his voice shook.

"Halfbreed spawn is not permitted here." she said, smiling wickedly. "The queen has promised that I'd be raised to a level of royalty. And that my daughter would be too."

A young dragonet about my age peeked around a pillar, her sea green eyes narrowed. Father narrowed his eyes at Clam. "And how's that going to work?"

"I'll give your son one chance to live, because I am merciful." Clam said, and released my throat. I fell to the floor, gasping. "I propose a marriage alliance."

Father snarled, low and deep. "I am already bonded."

"Then you won't mind your son being mated to my daughter." Clam said dismissively. I stopped coughing for a moment, and saw that Father's eyes were wide with fear. "You wouldn't."

"My daughter is more worthy than your halfbreed son, so you should be glad I'm offering her talon in marriage." Clam snapped, and her daughter walked over. "Dolphin here is more than willing to mate with him."

"No." Father's voice was flat. "Then we'll have him executed." Clam motioned to the guards, and they came forward, snatching me up. "Father!" I cried out, my emotions betraying me. "Help me!"

"Clam!" My father shouted, but she gave no hint of mercy as she watched me be dragged away. "Clam." His voice was softer this time. She turned to him, her eyes alight in triumph. "He'll do it."

I quit struggling as the guards dumped me back at Clam's talons. "Then we'll meet again to discuss the terms of the marriage alliance." She said, her voice positively gleeful. I turned to watch Dolphin, Clam's daughter, as she sauntered over to me. "I look forward to getting to know you better." she whispered in my ear, and I flinched as she laughed, exiting the room with a flourish. Father was eyeing me with a cold, distant look. "I'm sorry." he whispered.

Please, don't make me do this, I wanted to plead. But did I? No.

Archipelago managed to escape that night. No one knows how or why. Only he does, and that is one thing he will never give up, never tell another soul. His father was killed, spotted floating in the water with blood leaking out of his severed neck. Once free, Archi swam to the SkyWing mountains, and has hid there ever since. Dolphin and Clam continue their search for him, and he is haunted by his memories from his past. (hide spoiler)]

History: Snowdust was born near the Icewing Kingdom. A snowflake shaped scale was above her eye(like a teardrop scale). Her mother made no hesitation to name her Snowdust. When she got older, the Nightwings began to think that her father was an Icewing due to the snowflake scale. While her mother was working a couple of young Nightwings attacked her and threatened to kill her if she ever returned. Scared to death, she stayed away from the rainforest and roamed around the other kingdoms
