Mesa has light sandy gold scales and tawny speckles which trail down from her eyes and across her back like a galaxy of sand. Her eyes are a deep rich amber that have golden sparkles within their depths. Mesa’s tail barb is an unusual red gold color and has been the cause of many insults over the years. Her wings are larger and much more powerful than a regular SandWing’s as a result of her crossbred history. Her wings are also a red gold color just like her tail barb with speckles of darker maroon.

Mesa has diamonds along her ear and several other gems are arranged in a starburst starting from the corner of her eyes. She wears a glittering tiara that brings out the color of her eyes. All of these gems were gifts from her father before he was killed.

Mesa is dangerous and unpredictable. She puts on a kind and friendly mask in public. She makes friends easily, but none are close enough that she would share her secrets with them. She doesn't trust anyone, and sometimes, not even herself. She is continually afraid of two things - her father hunting her down, and her nightmares coming to life. She is afraid she will hurt those around her with her powers.

Mesa is a different dragon on the inside. She is a broken dragon, unable to mend the tears and rips in her past. She has an alter ego, her dark side, also known as Dark Mesa. She is uncontrollable and dangerous to approach when she is in this state. As far as she knows, no one is able to get her out of it once she starts to transform.

On the outside, Mesa is empathetic and thoughtful. She is a natural and benevolent leader, and often takes risks, most of them paying off. She likes being outgoing without giving away secrets, and is daring and brave. Mesa is elegant and serious, but she has a good sense of humor. She will stand up for what is right and isn't afraid to challenge someone or their decision if she thinks there is a better alternative. Mesa will never back down from a dare and, according to her friends, is optimistic (even though she doesn't really think so). She will never back down from a challenge or dare, but gets touchy when someone brings up personal stuff.

First person :
I rustled my wings together and shivered, despite the warm stifling air. The remnants of my most recent reoccurring nightmare clung to the edges of my mind. I could feel the power thrumming through my talons as mountains crumbled, lakes flooded, hundreds of trees crashing to the ground. The sky swirled above me, rain and lightning striking the ground mercilessly. Dragons falling from the sky, plucked from the clouds and swallowed by the earth. A shield of maroon energy whirled around me, a calm bubble in the center of the world’s destruction. I shook my head, and the thought retreated, but stayed in the corner of my mind. My mom came over, her tail barb making a long squiggly line in the sand. She looked deep into my eyes and frowned worriedly. “Are you okay?” She said, concerned. “Yes.” I said, staring into the distance. She nodded but still looked worried. “Go back to sleep.” She said, and lay down in the sand. I snorted quietly and pressed my back up against hers, knowing sleep wouldn't come for a long time.

An unearthly scream jolted me awake. I sat up, my wings shot out and fluttering with anxiety. My wings always betrayed my feelings, and today, I was feeling...scared. My talons whispered against the sand softly as I stepped towards the place my mother was sleeping. Another scream, this one much more higher pitched with fear, enamanated from the sleeping place. I took a step backwards, my wings fluttering like a butterfly about to take flight. My mother staggered out, her wings shredded and her talons covered in blood. Long scratches ran down her neck and oozed blood. “Mom!” I cried out in horror and relief. She saw me and reached out with a talon towards me. “Go…” Her voice was faint. I could barely hear her. “I'm not leaving you!” I said in frustration and lunged towards her. But before I could reach her, she pushed me away, her talons shaking. Just as she did, a dark blur lunged out of the sleeping place and tackled my mom. “No!” I screamed and tried to pry the dragon off of my mom. The dragon backhanded me and shot me across the sand with the breath knocked out of me. I gasped, and slowly got up onto my feet. My wings opened threateningly. “Let my mom go!” I yelled at the dragon. My mom moved her head slightly and saw me facing off against the unknown SkyWing. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but just as she did, the SkyWing grabbed her throat and started to squeeze.

My talons extended, I lunged across the sand to kill the SkyWing. He turned to face me, and an invisible force stopped me in my tracks, holding me in place so that I could see everything that happened next. He looked straight into my eyes, his face a mask of madness and insanity. I struggled against my invisible bonds, but it was no use. The only thing I could do was watch. Watch as the SkyWing looked down at my mom. And watch as he tore off her head, her blood running down his talons.

Somehow, I escaped. I broke free and fled. I tried to run. Run from my memories. Run from the dragon who killed the only one I loved. Run from my life. Run to hell.

But here I am.

Alive.

Dangerous.

Hunted.

Heartbroken.

Dead.

Mesa is an animus, but hates using her powers. She fears herself and her most prominent nightmare is her going mad and using her powers to take over the world, along with her father hunting her down. After what happened to her father, she swore she would never use her powers again unless the world was in great danger.

Since Mesa is also a crossbreed, she has the extra powerful wings of a SkyWing, along with fire and the poisonous tail barb of a SandWing.

Appearance:

Harpe has dark blue scales scattered along her body and wings. She has a splash of silver on her snout and near her eye, and her scales are a reflective abalone color, a very rare occurrence that hasn't occurred since Prince Arctic.

Personality: Harpe is quiet, shy, and reflective. She is constantly nervous and isn't very social, and keeps to herself more often than not. She is comfortable with people she knows, but other than that, she isn't very noticeable. She tries hard not to be noticed and stays on the side. She is modest and lets others take all the credit. Harpe is sweet and kind if you get to know her very well.

A brave, daring personality, Caiman likes to take risks. She keeps her mind open to everything, even if it seems odd. Very persistent, and often called stubborn. She likes to find fun in everything, and is usually easygoing. She is also an excellent strategist. Anger never penetrates her outward appearance. Even during battles, she irritates her opponents with teasing banter. She always has a crooked grin on her face.

Raised in the Mudwing palace. Her mother is grooming her to become queen, and she helps her mother rule the kingdom. When she was hatched, her eye was almost cut out by a shard of eggshell. Instead, she now has a scar.

History:All the Rainwings in the village always called her a runt, not knowing that she was aired to the throne. Shimmer soon gave up and ran away, meeting a Nightwing dragonet as she tore through the forest drying. The Nightwing welcomed her to his home, and whenever Shimmer wanted to go back Jupiter reminded her that the Rainwings didn't want her and told her that the talons of peace had killed her parents. Shimmer soon was old enough to go to Jade Moutain where she snuck out for a first time, knowing that Jupiter and his other friends would keep her back at the Nightwing Kingdom.

History: Being a firescales she got rather alot of attention from others, in a bad way. She earned stares from other dragons and no one dared ever challenged her in a battle. Some days no one even talked to her except her sister and mother and brother. Others were afraid if they said the wrong thing she might burn them. Even though her sister and her were so different, their kindness never faultered and sometimes they would make new friends.

Misty was outraged when the queen personally told Misty that they were traitors. Misty helped her mother, Pearl build shelter and hide from early patrols until her mother died of sickness. Misty has been living on her since then and has decided she might go to Jade Moutain.

History:Sunset grew up like any normal Sandwing except lots of other male Sadnwings kept flirting with her but she denied all of them, knowing they were murdurers or they were rude. Even though Sunset was related to Blaze she wasn't royalty, and she didn't even want to be royal. One day a strange Sandwing bumped into her and gave her a cactus flower. The strange Sandwing had said it was a forever cactus flower, one that would never die. Before Sunset could object or ask any more wpquestiosn the stranger had disappeared. A couple days after the cactus flower was given to her Sunset finally flew to Jade Mountain, most of the time wishing she was back home

Personality: Sabaku is bright and cheerful. He isn't an optimist but always attempts to be energetic around others. He can see all of the problems at hand, and instantaneously scans each room he's in for exits, etc. Sabaku is logical and hard to beat in a debate. He is super intelligent but doesn't brag about it.

History: Sabaku was born with a defect, causing him to look like he is now. Despite this, his parents were still proud of him and wanted him to have a great education along with meeting others from different tribes. They sent him to JMA with his cousin, Rico, who disappeared on their way here. He is still out looking for Rico behind the scenes when he isn't busy with school.

Sabaku changed his name when he came to JMA because he felt he could have a new beginning by coming here.

Personality : Solara is deadly, a harmless snake disguised as a rattlesnake. She is beautiful on the outside, pure evil on the inside. You never know what she is thinking, since she learned from birth to shield her mind. You can never trust her but she makes a dangerous enemy.

History : Solara was born all wrong. Her wings turned out frozen, meaning she could never fly. Solara was thrown into the forest by her parents and she vowed to get revenge. Void found her and told her she was a dragone of the prophecy and she happily excepted it, knowing she would ditch them the first time others turned against her.

Appearance : Solara's wings are made of pure ice but they can't be broken. Her hatred and anger bubble inside of her, and whenever she becomes angry, jealous, or any of those other bad emotions, her wings form cracks in them. She becomes more evil the more her wings crack. The rest of her body is purple black and she has icy cold blue eyes.

Personality:Breeze is a courageous but shy Skywing. She is very perky around her friends but is careful of what she says. She hates crowds and talks very quietly. Ever since Hawk's death, she has gotten easily offended. The mention of Hawk's name triggers her to attack any dragon who says his name. Breeze considers herself a deadly monster in battle. She knows many deadly moves that would take dragons years to master.

History:Breeze was one of the most dangerous Skywings in Queen Amber's army. Though she is young, the Queen had forced her to be in her army. She learned all her moves by her father, Hawk. After hearing about how Breeze became a soldier at age 4, a year later he went to kill the Queen. Failing in his plane he was forced to fight in the arena, fighting Moonwatcher and being killed by the Queen. After the fight, Breeze fought harder in her battles, believing that Hawk was fighting by her side.

Other:Though her father tried to kill Queen Amber, Breeze is Queen Amber's most trustful dragon. Though having a pretty good relationship with a 7 year old, Queen Amber and Breeze's relationship is slightly wavering

Favorite Move:-Flame Roll-(No dragon except Hawk and Breeze can master it, currently, I just want Breeze to have a special move if that's good) PS. Only Skywings/Nightwings can even do it:The Flame Roll is a new move that was come up by Hawk. The dragon draws a circle of fire around them. This keeps their opponent away from themself until the dragon is ready. Then the dragons leaps into the fire, surprising the opponent, making them think it's sort of a suicide. The dragon in the fire catches on fire and rolls at the opponent, knocking them and catching the other dragon on fire. The Skywing would then twirl in the air, as fast as they could and the fire would burn out, leaving their opponent screaming for a river or water.

Bracelet:She has a bracelet with the special rocks, concealing her thoughts from Mindreaders. She is often put in battles with Nightwings. Amber doesn't know about her ability to conceal her thoughts

Personality:Echo is very shy but clever. She slightly enjoys eves dropping on dragon’s conversation. Echo never speaks loudly and avoids speaking in conversations. It hard for her to trust new dragons, considering that anyone who finds out sort of wants to kill her. She is very cautious but sometimes when you gain her trust and respect, she will seem like another dragon. Happy, excited, kind, everything sunshines and rainbows XD. Echo sometimes gets a little flirty and is very good at playing it out smoothly

Appearance:
History:Echo was cursed in an egg by her older sister Coral. Coral had hoped to make it look like the dragonet had died in her egg, since it’d be suspicious if Echo was strangled and out of the egg. All statues would have to be destroyed in the house. Again! Not being able to turn Animus due to the curse, Echo gained siren powers. She developed a love for singing and most of the time would sing very loudly. When she accidently killed her best, of making her ear drums pop. Echo now knew the price of her power, and swore to never sing or talk loudly anymore. Coral was jealous of this power and wanted Echo to be done for, so she tried to make Echo scream and make her parents realize that the little dragonet was a danger to them all. The older dragon enjoyed making plans to kill Echo, which made Echo wonder if the kingdom was safe.
Coral’s latest plan
“Squid-brain! Come down here before I drag myself up there and give you a piece of my mind!” Coral snarled, glancing at two of her friends that were seated on a dead whale. “Echo is special” I heard her hiss a couple things to the other Seawings. I wish Finn was here, he died years ago and he was the only one to protect me. Coral’s angry voice drew me away from the sad memories, “I have the most wonderful idea yet” she smiled cruelly, it sent shivers to my spine. She unrolled a giant scroll, laying it in front of them on the sandy beach of an island. “Won’t this plan fail like the rest?” Wave growled to Coral, his tail swatting the ground. I watched from the cave’s roof, seeming to prepare to be discovered but nobody looked at me. “It won’t darling” Coral snapped at her boyfriend, and rolled her eyes, pointing onto the scroll. It was a map, a map a Pyrrhia, but how could she have gotten it? Those were rare to find in the Seawing kingdom. “Dang, that map seems to be in mint condition!” my other sister gasped, eyeing the map. Coral looked proudly at Aqua, “Yep, stole it from the Skywings, they never take directions you know” she stomped her tail on the sand, spraying bits of sand towards me. I covered my mouth and closed my eyes as I was trampled with bits of sand. “Now, soon, the sharks will be mating, and of course, I know where that place is” Why would she need sharks? I wondered but listened carefully. “We lure Echo towards them, and have them attack her. The females are very aggressive during this time and that little squirt is no bigger than a lemon shark!” the three dragons laughed and agreed. Coral gave Wave and Aqua a pair of ear-muffs which were big enough to fit their fat heads. I rolled my eyes, surprised they had found ear-muffs big enough to fit their ego filled head. “We’ll need chains, and Wave is in charge of getting them. When Echo is weakened, we’ll rap some chains around her snout so we can’t be enchanted” I felt like a criminal that was proven guilty for nothing. She really wants me dead, they all do! I thought, a pain suddenly searing in my chest. My heart pounded as I flipped around, but nobody was there, it was probably just a pain….. “Dang it!” I muttered quietly, the only sentence I was able to hear was ‘Queen Amber and Skywing Dungeon’ before they flipped into the ocean. They were planning something big for me, and I could tell it was bad, Jade Mountain would surely help hide me. I would leave in the morning

Appearance : Delta's scales are very hard to pin down, as they seem to shift from different colors wherever you look at her. In water, they seem a turquoise blue with gold edging, in mud, they're more a muddy blue, in sand, they're a blue-gold. She is sleek and fast, and relies on her speed when fighting. She has the tail barb of a SandWing, fire, the luminous blinking stripes of a SeaWing, and the fire-resistance of a blood-red egg MudWing. Her family of NightWings have taught her to hide in the shadows, but she stands out in the sun because her scales are very, very reflective. So reflective that she can be seen on the ground clearly from the air, because her scales shine like a beacon.

Personality: bright, energetic, but definitely NOT an optimist. She hates the idea of an optimist and being happy about everything. She can turn deadly and serious in a split second, and you do NOT want to see that side of her. She is smart and thinks on her feet, and gets impatient when things go too slowly. She is sort of like a ADHD dragon, hopping from place to place and hard to pin down. She uses this to her advantage during battle, but when she isn't in battle, others often get annoyed by her wit and speedy tongue. She often says whatever is on her mind and isn't shy at all.

History: her parents were killed when she was 1 but she escaped, and now she lives with the NightWings. The NightWings take care of her, and she hasn't ever heard of JMA yet, even though she is old enough.

Appearance : She can change colors like a usual RainWing, but all of her scales have a scalloped red-gold edging to them. She has the powerful wings of a SkyWing, and her talons are reinforced so that when she does her signature move, it doesn't hurt her. Her signature move is that she can spray venom on her talons, and then slice an attacker, injecting them with her venom. She is an extremely fast flier, but is clumsier on the ground. She doesn't have the fire of a SkyWing, but her hindquarters are very powerful.

Personality : Quetzal is always on task and focused. She is a very down-to-earth type of dragon and is always getting others in line. She is a good teamworker and keeps everyone from going crazy. Quetzal is often a voice of calm during times of chaos and also serves as Queen Cloudberry's advisor. Her voice can soothe you instantly and she has a talent for being a quick talker. Quetzal is also a fast learner and absorbs information faster. Her memory capacity is amazing, and she remembers almost everything from when she was born.

History : Quetzal's parents went missing soon after she was born. She only holds the faintest memories of them, and so she vowed to remember the bits that she could recall. That's why her memory is so pronounced. She was chosen to be a messenger because of her flying skills, which were the best in the RainWing tribe. Her education at JMA was finished early so that she could exchange messages for the tribes. She realizes this is a very dangerous position, mainly because in a war, she is the one who delivers messages, and she is usually the one who nearly gets killed. Occasionally she will engage in combat, but sticks to her job most of the time.

Appearance:

History:Cheetah was born near the Scorpion Den like Sunny. She was hidden in fear that someone would take the dragonet away. Her egg was enchanted that whoever held it or carried it, would feel the pain of anyone they hurt. The enchanter had never known that a dragonet was in the egg but Cheetah's mother hid the egg in complete darkness so that the effects would wear off. However, when Cheetah was born, she was an animus and whoever she enchanted or held the object she enchanted, if they were harmed she would feel their pain. Cheetah never got to know her mother because she was killed, accused for working with the Nightwings. Cheetah thought this was stupid but couldn't save her. She made an earring that would help heal anyone who wore it, not knowing that their pain would transfer to her. Her father was accused the same way by a Sandwing named Dustdevil but Fennec managed to escape.

Personality:Brightstream is Queen Scarlet and Burn mashed together in a Rainwing form. She is highly dangerous and hates all the tribes to her guts. She is like a Darkstalker, for she haunts the Rainwings. In order to have ensure her victims die, she does not get close to anyone and killed her siblings. She often goes for dragonets and is unforgiving. Brightstream isn't afraid to resort to eating other dragons and thinks they taste like chicken. She enjoys meeting cross breeds and shares Burn's fascination in keeping dead dragons to examine and look at.

History:There was fire in Brightstream the moment she was born. She hated the rainforest and was teased for her size. She used to be good friends with Shimmer but quickly decided to run away. Brightstream found another friend, Toucan but he betrayed her, and tried to lock her in the volcano. Nobody knows what made her snap, maybe it was the teasing, maybe she had a screw loose but when Stream got out, she killed him with her venom. Her siblings tried to heal them with their venom but the dragonet killed them too. Pineapple and Amazon both attacked her, but with easy effort, she also killed them. She was driven out of the forest and practiced her venom shooting on sloths and deer. She enjoyed killing the fruit that the Rainwings ate, though this hardly made a difference. Now Brightstream, she haunted the Rainwings, killing anyone that got in her way. She developed a love for meat and even began to eat her victims. To many of her victims, she enjoyed trying to turn her victims in and out.

The worlds upside-down. It's insane. Full of cruel people. Like me. I'd watch out, check all the shadows. Watch your back. Expect everything to change. I will find you, and when I do, you're done for. So, think twice before entering my world of cruelness. Ask yourself. Why would she warn me? Would she haunt me? I warn you because my agenda is full and I can't squeeze in more dragons and puny scavengers to kill. Haunt you? Of course! I'm the Brightstream. Did you think I have mercy? Don't make me laugh. I will turn you inside-out if you do. Now, shut up, sit in a chair and read.

You're pathetic, I wonder why your still alive the voice screamed in my mind. As a 2 year old, that was very hurtful. Don't laugh, because it's not funny to think that they were just words. My heart was racing. Everything seemed to be closing in on me. "Let me out!" I screamed, banging on the large boulder. "Never in the world idiot" the voice yelled back, pushing harder on the rock. Stalagmites collapsed, one almost squashing me. I sprayed my venom on the rock, it disintegrating. The Rainwing dragonet looked terrified, suddenly shrieking and flapping his wings. Fire burned in my eyes as I raged towards him, leaves burning next to me. The lilac that I loved so much. Gone. It's purple beauty turning a smoky grey. My venom dropped onto the flowers, it looked like a funeral. In Ancient Greek tragedies, the main character has something bad happen to them. Death. Ya, ya, dramatic gasp but it's life bumbling idiots, death is the greatest gift of all. My talons clenched and shot forward, grabbing the his tail. "What's wrong Toucan? Scared?" To scavengers, I'd look like Freddy Cruager. In this tragedy, I was the monster. The disaster. The poison in a drink. The bullet in the barrel. The murderer of Toucan. His cry was so loud it seemed the forest would shake. "Y-y-y-you melt a rock..." He chocked out the words, like a drowning scavenger would, the word in big bubbles. "So what?" I spat, poison spraying on the rock next to him. Toucan struggled to get free, "Open your mouth" I ordered, the dragonet refusing but I wrenched it open. Everything was fast. Venom sprayed everywhere, including into his throat. He froze in shock, screaming as if his head had been ripped off. Blood and venom mixed as Toucan screamed. His scales slowly melted away, starting from his neck. Eyes filled with terror, he wrenched himself free, a hole in his neck, a purple substance, the mix of blood and venom squirted like water from a water gun. He grabbed his neck and I didn't hesitate to take my talons across it. I was surprised this dragon was still alive. His head was barely attached to his body, as if only a screw was keeping it on. Purple was everywhere as the venom grabbed his eyes and they seemed to explode. Toucan eye lids didn't come down as his head tore off. His horn was the only thing remained after the effects wore off. "Adios Toucan't" I sneered and tore into the sky, flapping my wings with delight

{ Stubborn } Blizzard has a tendency to be outspoken, and when someone challenges him, his pride makes him unable to give up. Some admire this trait, and some hate him to the bone. But he will always be himself, and never change for anyone.

{ Loyal to the End } Despite his flaws, Blizzard will never forsake his queen. He'd rather DIE than give her up. He admires her and will do anything to protect her, earning him his place in her elite royal guard. Nothing gets past him when he's on the job.

{ Hardcore } He often does stupid things to impress his friends and feels that he constantly needs to prove himself. He is very "hardcore" and "tough", so he'll never back down from a challenge. Blizzard grew up in a small cottage. When his parents used to journey to the 3 holes where seals always pop out, just to get food, he would sit in the courtyard of the palace. He'd admire it from dawn to dusk, or until someone told him to leave. Blizzard dreamed of living there, and he worked and worked and worked until he did. He had earned the right, and he wasn't going to give it up.

In the process, he lost touch with his family. When they contacted him, asking if he would come back and see them, he brushed them off. He had FRIENDS now, he said, and he didn't need them.

He honed his fighting skills and never gave up. He was always trying to be the best. Have the best posture, be the one who was always on time, and above and beyond. He earned the respect of those around him, and it got to his brain. Blizzard became who he is today after his rigorous training, gaining some...but also sacrificing a lot.

Zephyr's eyes used to be a soft tawny color, but since he adopted the curse, his eyes have turned pure gold. He has large wings (he's a SkyWing! What do you expect?) that are a beautiful sunset-red-orange color. His underbelly is a lighter orange and he has maroon scales scattered over his wings and snout so he looks slightly freckled.

Personality : Aero's death turned Zephyr into something else. On the outside, he's modest and kind to everyone, just like his namesake, a gentle west wind. He doesn't enjoy violence and only kills when it is self-defense, which is why he hated the death of his brother so much. He will avenge and right wrongs done to others, and gladly helps those in trouble. He is a very helpful and loyal dragon, and he will stand by your side until his death. Every day he mourns Aero, and vows to not let his death go to waste. Zephyr was brought up in the palace, so he is polite and well-mannered. He loves the sea and sometimes wishes he was a SeaWing, and he hates dragons who waste or kill without reason. He is logical and strategic, and he has an uncanny way of finding out all of your secrets and darkest thoughts. He can tell what someone is about to do by their expression, movements, etc. Others get uncomfortable around him because of this fact, but it isn't his fault. It's just his nature.

His dark side is dangerous and cold. He is unreachable in this state and if he has a mission, he will stop at nothing to complete it. Zephyr's dark side is completely the opposite of his regular self, and it first developed when Aero was murdered. He puts his firescales to good use and this is the time when he is willing to kill to achieve his goals.

History : Zephyr was born to a pair of SkyWings who hated deformities. Namely, him and his brother, Aero.
FIRST PERSON :
I was being led to her Majesty, Queen Amber, with my brother Aero. I was nervous, of course. I had just hatched, and my father and mother had already drilled into me what to do in front of her. When the guards pushed open the door, I scurried in. She was sitting on her throne, magnificent and regal. I dropped into a bow, and my brother did too, if a little slower. Mother and Father walked in and mimicked our bow. "Peregrine, Goshawk." Queen Amber nodded to them, and they rose. "Are these your long-awaited dragonets?"

Mother spoke first, silencing Father with a flutter of her wing. "Yes, my queen. They are twins." Queen Amber inhaled sharply, and from my low vantage point I could see her eyes widen slightly. "More twins?" she asked cautiously, looking at them. Mother nodded, and Father was quick to step forward. "This is Zephyr." he said, and I stood and scurried behind him, but not quite touching him. "And this is Aero." My brother also stood and followed me, standing a few inches away from me so that I wouldn't hit him. Now I could see how many dragons had gathered. Why so many? I thought we were just going to see the queen. There was a regal dragon with a long swan neck standing next to Queen Amber. That must be Olympus, the royal prince. There were guards scattered all around the room, some of them quite young, and some of them older. Queen Amber spoke, snapping my attention back at her. "Zephyr and Aero." she said, and I walked a few feet forward until I was near the base of her dasis. "Zephyr, you are the firescale, are you not?" I didn't understand what firescale meant. "I am a curse, not a firescale." I said, repeating what my mother had told me. Queen Amber nodded slightly, glaring at Mother, and gestured with one talon at Aero. "He serves no purpose." she said, and out of the corner of my eye I could see both Olympus and Aero flinch at the same time. "He may be dismissed."

Mother and Father nodded at the same time, and took Aero in their talons. Something about Queen Amber's expression made me uneasy, and I said quietly, "Aero."

Although he was halfway across the room he turned to me, and I locked eyes with him. "Run." I said, and then I said it again. Louder. "Run!"

Aero wrenched his wings out of Mother and Father's grip and bolted for the door. He was soon stopped by guards, and before I could do anything, I was held back. I looked up into Prince Olympus's face, and he stared down at me sadly. I screamed as Aero was overwhelmed, and me, unable to help. "AERO!" I said shrilly, as he was dragged to the center, and me, to the side. Queen Amber stared down at my innocent brother, her expression closed off and cold. Mother and Father approached him, and he calmed slightly. But I could see what they were about to do.

"NO!" I kicked Olympus, and he fell back with an oof. I lunged forward, batting Mother aside, but I was too late. Father grabbed Aero in his talons, and cleanly slit his throat.

I was seeing red. I grabbed Father's throat in my claws, and although I didn't do any real damage, the fire in my scales was enough to kill him, his eyes wide and filled with fear. I turned to Mother next, growling, "You killed him." and lunged. She tried to fight back, but my scales burned her wings and she died too, scorching burns scattered across her throat and chest. My talons red with blood, I hissed at Queen Amber, but before I could do anything, everything went black.

That day, I never forgot. It has haunted me, and although I got my revenge on my mother and father, a burning flame is still lit inside my heart, waiting for the right time to flare up and wreck havoc.

Zephyr never had adoptive parents. Olympus took him under his wing and trained him in the art of the palace life. Olympus isn't that much older than Zephyr, which made them an interesting team. When he was about 3, he wandered off and met a young dragon about his age. They had a bit of a disagreement, and in his rage, he killed the young dragon. The dragon, it turns out, had curse on him, which was that when he died, all of his memories would flow into the murderer and overtake the murderer, turning him into its host. But something about his firescales made the plan go awry, so instead, if Zephyr is ever mortally wounded and is killed, he is reborn...but at a price. He becomes the dragon who killed him's servant, and he is forced to do whatever he/she says. And if he's killed again...well, you get the idea.

Personality:Dew is very proud of herself. She has a strong love for singing and violence. She enjoys dragons cheering for her but likes screams even more. Dew adores battle training and it is hard to develop a friendship with her, considering she kills almost everyone she meets.

Abilities:Dew has flashing stripes of a Seawing but is purple/blue. She cannot change colors, but it is easy to trip enemies due to her narrow tail. Instead of frost breath nor poison, she has a mixture. It freezes anything in its way before turning into venom. Though, she becomes frozen for 16 hours every 3 times she uses it.

History:Born to Brightstream and Tooth, she felt proud. Of course bloodthirsty but also won a sense of death. Dew wanted to prove herself to her mother and tried everything. Finally, showing her weapon, she gained Brightstream's trust and interest, though it came with a price. Every 3-4 times she used it, she'd become frozen for 16 hours. Her mother fed her dragons and blood was like sugar to her. One taste and it seemed she had rabies. Soon enough, Dew developed a love for singing and often sings for jewels, or kills her victims for jewels.

Powers
Manta has bioluminescent stripes around her eyes in a pattern that blooms outward similar to flower petals. This pattern mimics the teardrop that all NightWings with powers have. She also has small circles that she can light up at will trailing down her neck. From her eyes, she can flash a bright light, similar to a laser beam or a flashlight. She exudes a cold aura when she is angry, or loses control of her emotions. She has the whip-thin tail of an IceWing and ridged claws that she uses to her advantage in battle. On her RainWing side, she can turn colors, but only shades of blue. This takes a lot of energy to maintain, so she doesn't use it a lot. Her claws and teeth are infested with frostbreath, so if she bites/claws into anyone, their blood and scales begin to freeze. Manta can summon icicles, but she does get extremely cold when she does this, and needs to fly around a lot in order to counteract the cold, or have someone breathe fire on her. If she can't do either of those things, she turns into an ice statue.

Even for me, the writer, and definitely for Manta.(view spoiler)[You want to know? You REALLY want to know? I'm warning you one last time. If you continue, you might be scarred for life.
(view spoiler)[I was curled up beside my mother, her color-changing scales draped in black and her wing tucking me in protectively. I knew it was all for my own good, so I let her hug me. I could see the moon, shining full and bright like a luminous eye through a gap where my mother's wing didn't cover. Her chest moved slowly, up and down, and by nestling up against her, I could feel the slow steady beat of her heart. I felt up and ready to run, as if someone was watching us, but since my mother was at ease, I slowly started to relax.

My eyes opened, my ears raised and perked. Something wasn't right, my mind was telling me. But my mother slept on.

"Mama?" I gently shook her, wriggling out from the comfort of her wing. She murmured in her sleep a name. Freezedry. Is that you? she whispered, then she was pulled back under into the carpet of sleep. I gave up, and walked towards the entrance. My spots on my neck and near my eyes lit up automatically as I made my way around boulders that had kept us safe for so long. But not tonight.

A talon as colorless as snow wrapped around my snout and pulled me forward into the open air. I clawed at it frantically, my screams and breaths muffled and restricted. A ghostly head, white in the moonlight, smiled down at me, showing unnaturally sharp teeth. He kept one talon on my snout as he traced my bioluminescent circles down my neck. I shivered at the touch, and I could hear his laugh, lighter than I expected it to be. He pinched my throat, and once again I could breathe. I opened my snout to shout desperately, but he held one talon to his teeth. "Shhh." he said, his voice low. "If you make one sound, I'll break your neck." My eyes widened, and he laughed, louder that time, and darker. I could feel something behind me, and I realized it was him, running his talons down my spine and pulling me closer. I started to struggle, smacking him with my tail and lashing out with my claws, but he caught my flailing limbs and pinned me down, his breath hot on my neck. I was immobilized and unable to call for help.

"That's a beautiful face you got there." He said, smiling cruelly. I felt tears fill my left eye, and he showed his sharp teeth again. "It must cause you so much trouble. Why don't I help you?"

He leaned in closer, and his eyes started to glow. Suddenly, I lost feeling in my body, a chilling cold creeping through me. My talons moved of their own accord, and suddenly, I could feel him laughing. He was that close to me. "Feels good, doesn't it?" he teased, and my talons were coming towards my snout. I couldn't move away, I had lost control over my own body. But I tried. Tried to scream. Tried to move. Tried to claw out his life. But nothing happened, and I could only watch as my own claws, serrated and sharpened to perfection, descended.

I couldn't feel anything at first. Only the cold air whistling through my skull. Then the pain hit. Scorching pain, daggers stabbing into my nerve endings, and oh, my eye, my eye. My own talons were stabbed straight into it, and somehow managed to gouge it out all by themselves. The nerve endings dangled out from the back, frayed and broken. I screamed, my voice restored, as the snowy colored dragon laughed and laughed. His eyes turned to me, his expression savage and shadowy. I still couldn't feel my limbs, and as he slunk closer, I could feel my empty socket pool with blood instead of tears. It dripped over my scales and washed the ground with a bright glowing red. The pain never stopped, it washed over me just like the ground had been washed over. I went limp, and he caught me with glee. "Much better." he whispered, and I could feel him licking away the blood in my eye socket, his tongue rubbing the bone. I tried to cry, but couldn't. I couldn't do anything. I was weak.

Something dark came shooting out of the cave and tackled the snowy colored dragon. Red dripped in between them as my mother clawed at the snowy dragon with all her might. She sprayed venom on him, but he just laughed. He threw her off with indragon (get it? indragon? inhuman? never mind) strength and lunged at her. Now she was the one who was getting her life ripped out of her, and then, I felt something tingling in my veins. I stood up, even though I tried to hold back. I tried to sit down, but I couldn't. He made me walk over, him holding my mother in place. She looked up at me, and understanding dawned in her eyes.

"It's not you." she said quietly, as if that was supposed to make me feel better. She stared straight into my face, never flinching at the blood still pouring out of the empty hole in my face. "I know you're in there, Rayray." the sound of my nickname started to fill my eye with tears. "I'll always love you. Remember that. I forgive you."

The snowy colored dragon laughed. "So touching." he said, his voice filled with ecstasy. I couldn't stop what happened next, and it was too quick for me to stop myself. My talons plunged straight into her chest, and ripped out the heart that I was listening to, earlier on that night. It pulsed in my talons, then was still. The light died in her eyes, but I could still see her love for me in them when she died.

Died.

Died.

DIED.

I screamed, and something made my wings open, flaring out to their full length. I snarled, a low, deep sound, and for the first time, he looked afraid. "I will NEVER forgive you." I said, in a voice not even mine. Then, I stared into his snout, and ripped out his heart in the exact same way he made me do to my mother.

I relished his blood, mourned hers. I hated his blood, I loved hers. I killed his blood, and got revenge for hers.

And then, standing there, covered in red under the white of the moon, I cried the words I couldn't say to her when she died.

"I love you."

❖ Manta is hurting, deep inside her soul. She mourns her mother ever single day, and as a result, has developed a passion to kill everyone, because she blames the world for making her who she is today. For letting her mother die. For letting her be weak, and unable to fight back when she was young. She has a sort of twisted guiding moral compass.

Death is unredeemable. Death as revenge...well, that's a different story. And I'm out for revenge. Get ready, world. Manta's comin to kill you.

❖ Manta used to be a sweet young dragonet. Innocent. Pure. Weak. Used to being the key words. Now her soul's dark. Vengeful. Unmerciful. Cold. Impenetrable. And she likes it that way. Because she's strong.

❖ Being with Dew...it makes her stronger. Surer. More confident. They share the same bloodthirsty longing for death, although Manta's is more based on punishing the world for her mother's death. Instead of internalizing her damage, repairing her soul, she let it out, a dark force against the light of the world. And she loves it.

❖ Manta is a very stubborn dragon, but goes along with anything Dew says. Most of the time. She is the strategic side of the pair. She's the one that thinks of all of the creative ways she could kill someone in her free time. Designing traps is her specialty. Clean murder is her hobby. Traveling alongside Dew and killing dragons together is her favorite pastime.

❖ Manta HATES being treated like someone or something she isn't. Especially when other dragons, especially adults, think that she is younger than she really is. She hates the way the world views her, and she hates the way she seems so small and vulnerable. Her size is constantly a boundary to what she can do, but she intends to break that. Along with her past regrets, it serves as a barrier.

History:
Current grew up with her parents in the kingdom of Sea like all the other Seawing dragonets. She quickly became a brilliant swimmer and loved to spend her time swimming as fast as she could. She never particularly liked other dragonets besides her brother, Crab. They were the best of friends. Crab was a year older than Current, but to Current she was stronger and needed to protect Crab. Crab started to like hanging out with other dragonets and Current insisted on following him around all the time. This annoyed Crab so he started to push Current away, not wanting anything to do with, "his annoying little sister." Current was devastated. She started to spend her time alone, away from the hurt her brother caused.

Personality: Shard is extremely passive aggressive. One moment she can be the sweetest dragon you'll ever know and the other she'll be biting your throat off. She isn't very smart and has a hard time thinking things through. She isn't very observant and her mind is very much black and white. Good or bad.

Appearance:


History: Shard's father was pressured too much to be an amazing prince and use his animus power to make an amazing gift for his kingdom, but he couldn't live up to it so he ran away from the kingdom, living a bit outside of the border. Hibiscus was a very adventurous Rainwing, wanting to travel the continent, so she did just that. One day she was exploring near Icewing territory she found Prince Tundra. They fell in love and shortly had Shard. Shard lived with her parents, traveling all over. Her father taught her how to use her animus ability, not believing about the legends of loosing your soul. It made Shard more irritable by the day and she became passive aggressive. The family had growing contentions as Prince Tundra became more crazy, Shard became more selfish and moody, and Hibiscus became anxious and worried. One day, however, Prince Tundra was killed when he ventured too far into the Skywing kingdom looking for food. Shard and her mother waited for him for days, but he never came back. Hibiscus was overcome with grief and went back to the Rainwing kingdom, but Shard didn't want to come. She stayed behind, living completely on her own and she liked it that way.

Personality:Amethyst is very kind and sweet unless you mess with her. She hates being teased and is very sensitive to what you say to her. Of course the princesses has a lot of puns and will easily roast you without effort. Amethyst is very mischievous and enjoys toying with males hearts. She acts like a bad*ss around other females and rarely males. She is very protective of her friends but often tries to forget she's a princess. Amethyst does not enjoy her mothers demand for violence and would rather go exploring.

History:Amethyst was born when the queen first started up the arena. She was taught by soldiers that blood was always the answer though she ignored it. Rather would be reading, she was acted like an outsider. Amber always tried to convince her daughter to follow in the dragons talon-steps, and continue the arena. Amethyst's love for exploring got her deep into trouble but it always ended up with a lecture. She adored playing with her siblings but when word broke out of the war, Amethyst decided to stay out of it. She's been trying to settle things out, visiting each kingdom and trying to get some male dragons on her side. Never would she make them fight though, and never would she let mother know.

Talon-steps
"The arena is important. It satisfies the Skywings demand for blood. It also shows that tribes can't just go sending troops to attack us! It puts everyone in the right place" mother reasoned, toying with a sharp dagger in her talons. Mother scared me with her thirst for blood but I had to play along. I clenched my talons, "Of corse, the arena was brought back when you were Queen though" I countered, snatching the dagger and tossing it aside. Mother looked slightly annoyed and I could tell she'd rather watch an arena fight than talk with me. "Princess Amethyst, I expect the best from you so i put you in battle training. There is no mercy in war" she finished, whisking away from me as fast as she could. Using princess before my name made me very suspicious. Mother usually called me Amethyst or darling, or dear. But never Princess Amethyst. What was she up to? Probably no good. It seemed clear that i'd have to participate in this new battle training thing. Brilliant.

"Fight harder" Hawk ordered, tail lashing behind him. As a 5 year old, of course my techniques weren't very impressive and the Skywing was obviously getting angry. "I've seen a 2 year old fight better" he growled, a tiny head popping out behind him. Breeze. Little miss perfect. "You will be fighting her" he said harshly but his gaze softened when he turned to Breeze, "Darling, no gadgets" Hawk told her, taking away her pouch. Breeze looked very disappointed but held her chin up high, "Good luck Princess Amethyst" she murmured shyly, crouching in a bow but having her wings up in a challenging position. I didn't even try to reply to that comment, the battle was more important than words. The dragonet struck first, grabbing my talons and swiping her tiny, thin tail below me, causing me to fall over. Hissing in frustration, my talons followed Breeze's moves, guiding me to slash her snout, dodge a blow, trip her, and all. By the end of the battle, we were both bloody, but Breeze had way more energy than me. She lunged, twisting my wings and sitting on them, her jaws closing around my throat. I couldn't breathe, and tried to twist free but soon realized she had damaged my spine. I was going to die. "Enough" Hawk snarled, and Breeze released, surprisingly very obedient to her father. "You'll make an amazing warrior one day" he murmured and guilt crept all over the dragonets young face. I gasped for air and stood, disappearing while Breeze told my fighting instructor about how she was already a soldier in the army.

Screams seemed to dart into the royal palace as a Skywing slipped in. I skidded towards mothers room, horror spreading across my face. Hawk, once a loyal Skywing and a fierce soldier, stood over the queen, talons gleaming with blood. I had no hesitation to ram into him, and I must confess, he was pretty strong to be teaching a weak 5 year old how to fight. Skywing guards launched attacks on him, binding his mouth with chains and jabbing him away from mother with daggers and spears. Rage appeared on mothers face as Hawk was dragged away and she turned to face me, "This is why we have an arena" she hissed. Something seemed off about her. Anger never had been in her eyes. Only amusement, happiness, annoyance and sadness. My next instructor was chosen by mother after Hawk was killed in the arena. Mother seemed amused at Breeze's face when the queen herself had snapped his neck. Revenge had been taken for mother, which satisfied her a lot.

The war. Iceflakes attack was surprising, how long would the battles even last? I would never side with mother. And never side with Iceflake. A rebellion to cancel the war out. It seemed amazing. Convincing dragons from different tribes would be easy. Convincing Skywings would not be so easy. Rarely any Skywings were loyal to Amber, or maybe some could be convince. That was my plan, I'd go and try to recruit others.
