Internal and External Conflict

Conflict is very important in this book. Conflict is important because the way August reacts to conflict reveals his character. An internal conflict within him is that he thinks less of himself because of the way he looks. This is important because it reveals how he does not think he is good enough. An external conflict is that everywhere he goes people make fun of him and give him weird looks. This also makes him feel less of himself. Any thoughts?
