Sarah Rende In the Exiled Queen I realized how the character Raisa is created with an internal and an external conflict.Internal Conflict is a conflict that is happening inside of you. External Conflict is a conflict you are having with someone else, and on the outside of you. Her internal conflict is deciding whether to give up her location or to say hidden. She wants to give up her location to tell her mother she is okay, but she wants to stay hidden because she can face being imprisoned, married to someone she doesn't love,or even death. Her external conflict is with Amon, her best friend and captain. She feels that she doesn´t get to do as much stuff as the other cadets because she is a newling and she is fighting her commander to get what she wants. The author creates Raisa with many conflicts to deal with to show that if she overcomes them, she is a strong character, and in the book, that´s what she is fighting to be.
