Kaleigh In this book there are many different conflicts in general. Some of the conflicts could even be considered both. For example, when Ponyboy and Darry are always fighting they are both involved in that conflict. When Ponyboy reacts to himself that is just for himself not him and Darry. An example of an internal conflict was when Ponyboy decided to save the children from the burning church. He must have had a few seconds in his mind to decide that he was going to do this. An obvious example of an external conflict is the tension between the Socs and the Greasers. The two groups are always fighting making it an external conflict.
