Deborah, the book is Astonishing Splashes of Colour

I know little about synesthesia, so am looking forward to reading this one.

Deborah Pickstone | 529 comments It's truly a bonus to have - differs from person to person. Can involve, one/more/all of the senses. The blurb says her emotions have colour....can't say that strikes me particularly. Words, especially, for me, sound. Taste and smell sometimes. Touch, no. Intuition yes.

Emotions are not 'senses' so I will be interested to see how that works. I hope the writer IS synesthetic as, if not, it'll only convince anyone who has no idea how it works.

Have immediately ordered it from the library!

Deborah Pickstone | 529 comments Hum. It does exist and is apparently a 'new' form of synesthesia. It appears to be science's way of trying to explain people seeing auras? Though the viewer does link the colour to their own emotions and not to the observed 'wearer' of the aura. Interesting. I certainly do see colours around people at times. I won't venture to interpret that.

Unfortunately, the blurb states '.....synaesthesia (a condition in which emotions are seen as colours)', which is innacurate.

It will be interesting to hear your feedback, as someone with personal experience, after you read the book.

Settling on specific locations and books is harder than I thought it would be (fun though!). I've already made changes and I haven't even started yet!

And after that? I love this challenge and I plan on continuing work on this thread throughout 2017, Janice. I hope you can leave it up or put it elsewhere so I can find it!

Janice (jamasc) | 60409 comments Perhaps you can load your page and bookmark it, or link it on your profile. If you go to Sarah's profile, you'll see how she links all her threads. I use an app called Evernote, on which I keep my links for pages I access frequently.

Sarah | 18517 comments Your own personal thread will still be there, just not quickly accessible via this post. You could just trawl this section for your post each time, or bookmark it in some way.
