Everyone skipped this section. It's crazy how much smaller this section is than on the show.

I love Leofric. Alfred is a devious asshole. Using everyone as pawns..

Yeah when I first met Alfred I thought he was just kind of a one-dimensional religious zealot, and pretty stupid. But turns out he is not!

The gifting of the helmet and armor was pretty clever. I like Leofric too. And the priest that begins with a W.

Not to mention conning him to marry into extreme debt.

Yes! I was going to mention that, but I couldn't remember for sure what section it was in. And makes sense Alfred would do that, since it is debt to the church.

Definitely a clever move from his point of view.

Alfred is definitely more than first is shown to us, Leofric is right when he explains to Uthred that he knows how to use his pieces on the board.
