Chapter 10

Things are getting very interesting and I'm still not sure what's going on. I love that it's like nothing I read before... (view spoiler)[ This book is so weird! The "slithers", the giant cat, the moon with no color and the blue hue? I have no idea what is happening. I totally get Jessica in that aspect hearing all this for the first time. I think Jonathan is a midnighter too. I don't know why he's not hanging out with the rest of them. I can't wait to find out what their powers are. I only know Melissa can read thoughts and feelings but we still have no idea about Dess, Rex and of course Jessica. But it's good so far I'm glad you recommended it :) (hide spoiler)]

So im about to start chapter 9. (view spoiler)[So I would love to see the world the way Jessica did on her first night. It sounds like it would be beautiful to see. And is it just me or does this book have a lot of really good visuals. I can't help but wish it was a movie. And im glad your enjoying the book Mira. Just finished book 1. (view spoiler)[ Jessica officially has the most useful talent in the group. I wonder if Dess is right about the blue time coming in other places. If it comes in the middle of the ocean then maby there are swimming darklings just like there are flying ones and crawling/walking ones. It makes sense since they can change sape as the need arises. Im looking forward to reading what the darklings will do about Jessica and her newfound talent. They can't be happy the midnighters discovered her abilities before they could get to her. You're so fast! I'm about to start chapter 15 so I can't even view your spoilers yet. I'll try to pick the pace hopefully things will cool down a bit at work. So up till chapter 15 (view spoiler)[ Continuing with the great visuals, the scenes with Jonathan and the flying were pretty good. I still don't know what her power is but I know the whole building didn't change color because of the new kind of steel. I'll keep you posted :) (hide spoiler)]

That's good because I'm a little swamped at work. I'm still moving forward but at a slow pace. I have to tell you I'm on chapter 20 now but (view spoiler)[ I do not like Jonathan. I want to like him. I get where he's coming from. I just can't seem to like him. When it comes down to him and Rex I see that Rex is definitely right. He's just freaked out from all that he knows. They make him out to be the party pooper which he's not. And why in the world does Jonathan not like Melissa? It's not her fault that her power sucks and that she can't touch other people. Why does he seem to be offended by that? And Jessica is kinda of bla. I have no particular feelings about her. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I like Jonathan. I think hes an ok guy. Both he and Rex had things that they were wrong on and they wouldnt compromise. And the thing with Melissa will become clearer later on in the books. I wont say how, but theres more going on between her and rex. There keeping secrets and its really not cool, or ok. But its not explained in this book.(view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Hmm I guess it'd would be interesting to see how all this will fold out. So far I find Melissa and Rex more interesting so if (view spoiler)[ they are keeping secrets from the rest of the group, I think I'll be fine with that. It's not like anybody is being supportive. I finally finished! (view spoiler)[ I have to say I'm not feeling too strongly about this book. I don't have any love for most of the characters or even hate to be honest. The story is good. The idea is new. I might be willing to read the second book and see where this is going. I do like Jess's power but I just don't feel the darklings as the big bad yet. I'd like to know more about Melissa and why she didn't tell Dess about their existence until after four whole years though. (hide spoiler)]

I think some of that is explained in book 2. Do you want to go ahead and start book 2now or wait till after all the holiday stuff? I don't really have time to read until early January.
