Book is about an educated man possibly a doctor who travels to the appalachians (I think).
He meets and lusts after a girl who can't/won't talk.
He eventually 'cures' her by getting her to remember. She was raped and since then hasn't talked. He feels bad about making her remember.
They end up getting married.

It is a feel-good romance without much in the way of steamy scenes. I thought it was a Pamela Morsi book but it doesn't seem to be.

Similar, but she had been raped long before he met her. I don't think anyone knows she had been raped until after he gets her to talk. They all just think she's a little 'touched'
