Alec Dunn | 13 comments I added a new book I have recently published on Kindle as an ebook. But found that it was ascribed to another author with the same name. The cover was also missing. Your help would be much appreciated.

Empress (the_empress) Is it "Ghost Horse"?

Moved. Please add two spaces between you names, or the books you add will end up in the other profile.

Alec Dunn | 13 comments Sorry, disappeared for a sit down tea with the family - kids in the bath now, so may disappear again. Yes, it is 'Ghost Horse'. Sorry, I should have added that to begin with. There is another Alec Dunn and it got attributed to him rather than me.

Alec Dunn | 13 comments Ah, I just read the repeated section before. Thank you for sorting the author, Ellie. Could you also add - or tell me how to add - the front cover?

Sure just click the edit details (it's across from less details) and upload it. Can you add ASIN as well or should we do it?

Alec Dunn | 13 comments Thanks again. I'll give that a go. ASIN? If Kindle ascribe one then I'll have one... Not sure though. Can you give it a number if not? What's the purpose for it? Cataloguing?

Alec Dunn | 13 comments Excellent. That worked a treat. The cover is uploaded.

The books says it's published and that is a kindle format. Usually all published kindle e-books have ASIN.

It is for a couple of reasons: Search, shelving and selling.

Readers search by corresponding ISBN/ASIN in order to shelf the edition they own.
Having the ASIN/ISBN will enable the selling links.
The book is cached quicker on GR.
Additionally we add to the system all editions of a book so having an ASIN ISBN is helpful when dealing with cover requests and other.
