Sounds like the second kind of alternate-cover edition: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/8...

Arun (kra3) | 5 comments nope. they are totally different books.
Have a look at the link and do a search with given ISBN first please.

In the other case of duplicate ISBNs, it may be that an ISBN was reused on a completely different book. This shouldn't happen because ISBNs are supposed to be unique, but exceptions have been found.

Lesley | 59 comments The title this isbn is attached to has a different isbn in WorldCat. I will correct the GR records to match the WorldCat record.

No, please do not do that. It does sometimes happen that ISBNs get reused, and Goodreads practice in such cases is to keep the ISBN with the book or edition under which it is first entered here.

Arun (kra3) | 5 comments hmm, I ain't sure that's the best option. I'll try to get my hands on the other title and cross check the ISBN. may be it's incorrectly entered into.

Unless you are the user who entered the other book, that wouldn't prove there wasn't also an edition with that ISBN.

Arun (kra3) | 5 comments @rivka: huh, Are you saying that each edition of same book will be having different ISBN?

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments Arun - it is entirely possible, yes. Depends on the publisher.
